In late 2010, IBM introduced the IBM Data Governance (now Information Governance) Unified Process in a book authored by Sunil Sores. The combination of the process and InfoSphere Information Governance solutions not only leverages IBM’s expertise, but also the expertise and validation of business partners and customers.

The Information Governance Community (link resides outside of ibm.com), pioneered by IBM thought leaders, customers, partners and analysts is a global expansion of the IBM Information Governance Council.

The IBM Information Governance Council created in 2005, pioneered thought leadership around information governance and continuous process improvement. The collaboration of top global organizations, business partners and industry experts lead to the development of the Information Governance Maturity Model (link resides outside of ibm.com).
