Offer As an incentive to encourage qualified customers to move from non-IBM database servers to DB2 9 or Informix Dynamic Server, IBM is offering special pricing on new licenses of IBM database servers to replace competitive licenses. Who qualifies
All current customers of Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata, Netezza, Tamino, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Sybase Adaptive Server. Eligible IBM Products
You may replace your non-IBM database servers with any of the following:
- IBM DB2 Express, Workgroup or Enterprise 9 Server Edition
- DB2 Warehouse Base or Enterprise Edition
- Informix Dynamic Server Express, Workgroup or Enterprise Edition
Available discount
Licenses acquired under this program qualify for discounts beyond the entitled license price in Passport Advantage. The maximum discount available will vary based on criteria including current environment, Passport Advantage level, etc. Any priced options (e.g. Database Partitioning Facility, High Availability Disaster Recovery) purchased in the same transaction will be discounted the same percentage as the base license. Annual maintenance renewals will be billed at regular entitled price that is calculated based on entitled price not discounted price. Conditions
- Must be a replacement of deployed / production database competitor's licenses by new DB2 9 or Informix IDS license.
- All use of the replaced competitive licenses must be discontinued when migration is complete.
- The customer will fund any migration effort to DB2 9 or Informix IDS. IBM SW Services are available to assist the customer in their migration effort.
- The replaced competitive software licenses that are priced on a per processor basis must be replaced on a one-for-one basis in order to qualify for the discount. For competitive software licenses that are priced on a per user basis, each new IBM software license must replace a minimum of 50 competitor user licenses in order to qualify for the promotional discount.
- Subject to IBM pricing approval process.
