The COBOL to XMI WebSphere Studio Plug-In for IMS Java generates XMI from a COBOL copybook that describes IMS database segments. The XMI file that is generated meets the XMI requirements for input into the DLIModel utility. This plug-in is the recommended method for generating XMI files for input into the DLIModel utility.

The XMI file generated by this plug-in conforms to the COBOL metamodel, which is part of the CAM metamodel of the OMG-accepted version of the UML specification for the Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) standard.

Software Requirements
The COBOL to XMI WebSphere Studio Plug-In for IMS Java requires the following software:

• IMS Version 7 or higher
• WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition Version 4.0.1

Installation Instructions

1. Download CobolXMI-plugin.zip to your local computer.
2. Close WebSphere Studio, if open.
3. Transfer and unzip CobolXMI-plugin.zip to the WebSphere Studio plugins directory. The default path to this directory is: C:\Program Files\IBM\Application Developer Integration Edition\plugins. A directory named com.ibm.cam.cob2xmi is created in the plugins directory.
4. If you prefer, move the Readme files and AutoStock.cbl to another directory.
