User Adoption Services
IBM® Cognos® User Adoption Services help to ensure that business users, managers and executives fully support your new Cognos system and become proficient and confident users. User Adoption Services are customized user training programs designed and executed for you in partnership with Cognos Education.
How it Works
These fully customizable education services provide an analysis of your user training needs, a training plan, development of training materials and support assets, and a range of delivery options.
Following the IBM Cognos Solutions Implementation Methodology, Cognos Education experts will work with you to define and plan a training program for your organization, and will develop the necessary courseware, computer based training, user guides, and other training tools.
The training plan can be delivered by your own in-house trainers or by Cognos trainers – either onsite, online, or at Cognos Education facilities.

During the implementation phase of your project, Cognos Education will partner with you to identify the specific needs of your business users. We will then develop and deliver training solutions that empower your users and ensure that they use the Cognos solution successfully.
Throughout the lifecycle of a User Adoption Program, Cognos can provide all required project management and coordination, or can work in concert with your team to ensure that all necessary program components are addressed and effectively delivered.
Learning Assessment Service
The IBM Cognos Learning Assessment work package extends the value of Cognos business intelligence and performance management solutions. Offering a strategy for educating your various users to the skill level that each requires, the Learning Assessment work package ensures that education objectives and requirements are captured and communicated, and that customer-tested proven practices are implemented in your education plan.
How it Works
Through the Learning Assessment work package, your organization can collaborate with Cognos experts who will leverage Cognos tools to help you plan your education and training activities. Specifically, these Cognos subject matter experts will perform the following reviews:
- Skills and knowledge needs assessment
- Environment, system and process needs assessment
- Schedule and delivery needs assessment

- An education delivery methodology and deployment approach tailored to your unique requirements
- A certification map
- An education timeline aligned with the Cognos Solution Implementation Methodology (SIM)
- Role-based education recommendations
