 | IBM IMS DataPropagator™ (IMS DPROP) not only enables you to replicate IMS data across the DB2 family of databases, it also allows you to maintain consistency among multiple copies of data, for increased reliability and accuracy. And, with the new IMS DPROP near-real-time asynchronous propagation method, you can propagate IMS data to DB2 in as little as a few seconds. This enables you to leverage your IMS data for near-realtime business intelligence and transactional applications on DB2 and serve every part of your enterprise with the most up-to-date analysis. - Supports MQSeries-based, asynchronous, near real-time propagation that allows:
- The Capture Component to capture IMS database changes performed by IMS Batch,IMS BMP, and IMS TM application programs.
- The Apply Component to transform the IMS database changes into a relational format and apply them to DB2 tables on the same or on different systems from the IMS databases.
- The transmission of the database changes from the Capture to the Target Component via the recoverable, buffered, and queued asynchronous messaging services of MQSeries.
- Reduces elapsed time between the IMS database updates and the DB2 table updates to as little as a few seconds.
- Supports point-in-time propagation, allowing the content of the DB2 target tables to reflect clearly identified logical point-in-times of the IMS source databases, e.g., the logical end of a business day.
- Exploits the well-established, high-performance, reliable queued messaging services of the MQSeries Software and allows enterprises to leverage their MQSeries Administration and Operations skills.
- Improves performance by transmitting multiple IMS database changes within the same MQSeries message, by compressing MQSeries message data, and by exploiting the caching services of Virtual Lookaside Facility (VLF) of z/OS.
