- IBM DB2 Recovery Expert for z/OS, Version 3.1 can be customized using IBM Tools Customizer; a common component that simplifies the post SMP/E installation customization tasks for many of the IBM DB2 Tools.
- The ISPF interface has been enhanced to support existing GUI functionality, such as the Intelligent Recovery Manager and log analysis functionality. The GUI is now a web-based browser that has also been enhanced to provide a new look and feel similar to the ISPF interface, as well as adding new functionality.
- Recovery Expert Version 3.1 can restore the authorizations after restoring your objects. Packages and plans can be invalidated with a drop action. Recovery Expert Version 3.1 provide support for the BIND command when restoring objects.Object selection has been expanded to support more dependencies, including indexes, triggers, and stored procedures.This allows the ability to perform dropped object recovery or DDL generation for all of the added object types.Log-based DDL recovery generates DDL for dropped objects that are supported via an easy-to-use drop recovery wizard
