IBM DB2® Automation Tool for z/OS® allows users to set up recurring utility jobs for conditional and routine maintenance tasks.

It helps consume less system and staff resources by automating utility maintenance for objects based your business needs. With easy-to-use profiles, you can set up utility job specifications that can be managed across subsystems and environments - without requiring JCL skills. Additional features:

Ability to automate the execution of DB2 utilities such as COPY, REORG, and MODIFY with space reallocation based on user-specified thresholds.
Historical statistics repository for trend analysis and capacity planning.
Support for DB2 data page browsing and editing.
Data Set Manager that can move, change and resize data sets.
What's New in Version 4.1?
DB2 Automation Tool v4.1 is now customized using IBM Tools Customizer, a common component that simplifies the post SMP/E installation customization tasks for many of the IBM DB2 Tools.
Can schedule Automation Tool batch builds and utility jobs in the DB2 administrative task scheduler. The Automation Tool interface allows the user to create/delete, update and view existing tasks and view the status and output of executed tasks.
Integration with DB2 10 for z/OS autonomic statistics feature. A real-time statistic exception condition can trigger an object if a REORG, LOAD, or RUNSTATS was performed on the object since the last image copy.
Support for the CHECK DATA utility has been added.
Increased usability and integration with the ability to create image copies from DB2 Recovery Expert system level backups
Can call a DB2 stored procedure immediately before/after and during exceptions processing. The stored procedure can be a native SQL, external SQL, or any programming language such as C or COBOL that is supported by the DB
