Jeff Josten is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and lead architect for DB2 for z/OS. He has worked in the DB2 Development organization at the IBM Silicon Valley Lab since 1985. Although he now covers all areas of DB2, his main areas of interest in the past have included data sharing, performance, recovery and locking. He owns several patents in the area of data base technology, and is a frequent speaker at DB2 user group meetings.

Christopher J. (Chris) Crone
IBM Distinguished Engineer, DB2 for z/OS Development

Chris is a Distinguished Engineer and the team lead for the RDS Execution Engine area in DB2 for z/OS. Chris has worked on DB2 for z/OS for 23 years. During that time, Chris has worked in Service and Development and led the initiatives to improve DB2 globalization support by enabling ASCII and Unicode in the DB2 engine.

Chris has contributed to SQL enhancements such as Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions, Scrollable Cursors, and Multiple Row Insert and Fetch. Chris also led the scalability initiatives in DB2 that resulted in improved performance and scalability of DB2 10 for z/OS.

More recently, Chris has gone back to his roots in the area of SQL Enhancements and has been working with the RDS teams on new SQL function in DB2 11 for z/OS.
