DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition for zSeries is identical to the DB2 Connect Enterprise Server in its technology.
DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition for zSeries licensing cover VSE/VM and OS/390 customers by including the connection to one DB2 Server for VSE and VM database server in addition to one DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS.
As an alternative to user counting, IBM is introducing a MSU model which allows unlimited user access.
The host machine must be fully entitled for its processing capacity.
An MSU entitlement must be obtained for each MSU on the DB2 host system. Where the host system is part of a sysplex, MSUs are based on the DB2 entitlements of the entire sysplex.
The customer doesn't count users of the DB2 Connect product.
Only one server install is required for each customer utilizing the MSU licensing.
New DB2 Connect Unlimited Advanced Edition 9.7 for System z includes pureQuery technology and supports SQL replication and federation with DB2 on Linux, UNIX and Windows and Informix Dynamic server
