Case study
Directors at The New York (NY) State Department of Taxation and Finance aim to increase response times and decrease costs by managing their XML data on IBM DB2 9.
IBM DB2 9 with pureXML™ has capabilities that allow the department to decrease data management costs, enable staff to more easily access federal tax records, and streamline online filing for corporate and private tax returns.
Jim Lieb, director of common services for the NY State Department of Taxation and Finance said, “Through the use of XML data, we have more flexibility in defining new services and can more easily keep up with changing tax policies.”
Two million web filings have been processed to date and the NY State Department of Taxation and Finance expects five million more with additional applications.
