Case study
Nippon Chemi-Con Corporation chose IBM DB2 9 with pureXML™ to effectively control and quickly modify production based on real-time updates. With the help of IBM Premier Business Partner, Just Systems, the electronic component manufacturer from Japan is better able to balance supply with demand for its products.
DB2 pureXML allows Nippon Chemi-Con to actively communicate amongst its global factories to make production decisions in real time. The company also benefits from DB2 pureXML’s ability to show different views of the same data to different audiences.
“We are surprised about the effect of this system as the communication among our factories has become more active. We actually opened up new distribution lines between factories that had never exchanged products before,” said Mr. Noritaka Suzuki, manager of the Information System Department at Nippon Chemi-Con.
As an additional bonus, DB2 pureXML’s initial development only took a matter of weeks, allowing for rapid deployment of the new production environment.
