Overview
Federation Services federates content from heterogeneous repositories into IBM FileNet P8.
- Puts metadata from disparate content repositories into the P8 Content Engine's master catalog, thereby making that metadata available to IBM and business partner written applications that leverage the P8 API's
- Provides full life cycle management - creation, editing and approval, publishing, storage, retention and delete operations - for any type of digital content you need to store, even if it is in a non-IBM FileNet repository
- Enforces records management policies across repositories and in response to business events automatically
- Offers users the option to work in their existing interfaces thus making CFS invisible to most users, thereby greatly reducing training and support costs as users do not have to learn new systems and tools
- Helps users and applications find content across the entire enterprise through easy-to-use, integrated search capabilities
- Preserves existing investments in content management while providing a consolidated enterprise view of content and a singular set of catalog services
