Thank you for speaking at Information On Demand 2009. As a speaker, you play a very important role in the educational objectives for the conference. We appreciate your commitment of time and expertise to make this a successful event. Speaker registration
Please register for Information On Demand 2009
Register as a Customer, Business Partner or IBMer (there is no “speaker” registration type).
If you are a presenter of a sponsored session or want to use the conference pass provided as part of your IOD2009 sponsor agreement, please use the contract code provided to your organization. This will ensure that you are not billed.
All registrants must provide a credit card number to guarantee their hotel reservation. You will receive a registration confirmation stating the applicable conference registration fee at the time of registration and a confirmation number. Please keep this note for your records. If your conference fee is waived as a confirmed speaker (see entitlement section below), the credit card you provide at registration will NOT be charged the conference fee.
IBM speakers only: Your credit card will not be charged; the conference will internally bill your division or country.
Speaker Entitlements
Customer speakers are entitled to a complimentary full conference pass. Only one customer speaker per company per session will receive this free pass. Additional speakers from the same company in the same session will not be entitled to a complimentary conference pass or hotel accommodations.
Customer speakers from North America (US, Canada and Mexico) will also receive three complimentary hotel nights (room rate + tax) at one of the three conference hotels. Customer speakers from outside North America will receive four complimentary hotel nights. Speakers are responsible for all other room nights and all incidental expenses.
If your organization does not allow you to accept the reimbursement IBM provides for the conference fee or hotel, please inform the conference committee via e-mail at IOD2009@meetingconsultants.com
There are no speaker entitlements for Business Partner speakers.
IBM employees, outside division 7H, selected to deliver two or more educational activities, in Business Leadership, Technical Skill Building or Hands-on Labs only, will receive complimentary conference registration. The IBM employee must be the first IBM speaker listed in at least two qualifying sessions. No hotel or other expense entitlements will be offered.
Steps to prepare
1. Review and update your speaker profile
Sign in with your IBM id and password. When in the Call for Speakers system, click on “Speaker Profiles” in the left-hand navigation bar. Review your contact information and biography and update if needed. Please provide a mobile number that the conference committee can use to reach you during the conference. You may update your speaker profile until August 21, 2009.
2. Make travel plans
Plan to arrive by Sunday evening, Oct. 25 for the Welcome Reception in the EXPO. Business Leadership sessions will be offered through mid-day on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Stay for the week to take advantage of all the conference has to offer, with in-depth Technical Skill Building sessions and Hands-on Labs. 3. Attend speaker preparation calls
Two speaker preparation calls are planned. You may attend either one. The second call will be recorded and available for replay for a limited time. Presentation charts will be available here for download prior to the call. Please click on the link above and sign in to the Call for Speakers system with your IBM id and password to access call times, numbers and presentation slides.

Customer and Business Partner speakers: please upload the FINAL version of your presentation by Sept. 25.
IBM speakers: your final presentation is due Sept. 14.
6. Confirm scheduled speaking time(s) and room location(s)
After signing on with your IBM ID and Password, click on Session Proposals in the left-hand navigation to see the information for your speaking sessions.
7. Build your personal conference agenda (link resides outside of ibm.com)
Build your personal agenda, enroll in Hands-on Labs and Usability Sandbox sessions and set up appointments with IBM technical and business experts.
