Automatic email alerts: IBM® Cognos® NoticeCast delivers alerts to your desktop, PDA or cell phone.

Multiple-alert messages: Send varying messages based on a single event to different recipients or groups, such as summaries for a manager and detail for a sales rep.

Guided analysis: Use links in the message to analyze source information. Event values, such as customer or product, guide your exploration and provide filtered analysis on only that customer or product.

Event management: Using prompts in the alert, communicate decisions using an email pre-populated with event information, order or enquire through a pre-populated transaction screen, or perform other follow-ups.

SQL agents: Automate guided analysis and event management by using SQL agents against relational data in a warehouse or operational/transactional system:

• Insert or update records in a RDBMS based on the event.
• Run another agent to qualify the initial set of records against other conditions, such as orders shipping incomplete but only for high-profitability customers.
• Run an executable, such as one that creates a burst report showing all incomplete orders for each high profitability customer group and email it to the responsible customer services manager.
