ImagePlus Workstation Program (IWPM)
IWPM is the desktop component for DB2 ImagePlus® for z/OS and can also be used as a desktop component of Content Manager for iSeries (with the WAF feature). Paper documents, photos, drawings, graphics, and many other types of information can be scanned or captured as electronic documents; organized into folders; linked to business applications; routed through work processes; and presented to users on demand. It is easily installed from a single server or central location. IWPM supports:
Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT® or OS/2 (International)
TIFF, MO:DCA, IOCA, JFIF, GIF, PCX/DCX, ASCII, PPDS, and EBCDIC and open interfaces to define other data object types
capture, enhanced display, print, data format, and document manipulation
bi-tonal, color, and grayscale images in various formats
With IWPM, users can capture, display, print, and manipulate bi-tonal, color and grayscale on images in various formats and import or export many different types of documents from images and text to other data formats, such as audio and video. Documents created on PCs, such as spreadsheets and word processing files, are accessible across your enterprise. Security and management of the data are coordinated from a single point in the system.
The application programming interfaces (APIs) provide communication between the client and the server applications. You can index, store, retrieve, delete, and update documents; create and look at the content of folders; create and search file cabinets, and create cases and workbaskets.
A wide array of scanners and printers are supported by an open interface. Image processing services provide workstation memory management, software color, and bi-level image compression and decompression.
