Banu Ekiz
Banu Ekiz is the manager of the Business Intelligence Coordination Center in Akbank.
Banu started her career as a teaching & research assistant on database systems in Bosphorus University, Istanbul.
She then worked as a database administrator on DB2, systems programmer, database systems architect and the manager of the database group in YKB.
She worked in the Year 2000 Project and lead the systems management program in the Currency-Cutover Project 2005 in YKB. She lead batch and online tuning projects in YKB.
Banu had her papers published in various magazines, and she has been a speaker in IDUG Europe Conferences with the following sessions:
- Currency Cutover in YKB, IDUG Europe 2005
Banu joined the Conference Planning Committee of IDUG Europe in 2003 and she became the IDUG 2008 Conference Chairperson in Warsaw.
Banu is a certified IBM solutions expert and has the following database certifications:
- IBM Certified Database Administrator- DB2 Universal Database V8.1 for Z/OS
- IBM Certified Database Associate – DB2 Universal Database V8.1 Family
- IBM Certified Solutions Expert – DB2 UDB V7.1 Database Administrator for OS/390
- IBM Certified Specialist – DB2 UDB V6.1/V7.1 User
Her main interests are on computer performance measurement and performance tuning.
She has also been a referee for Computer Performance Measurement Group (CMG) conferences and she has been a member of the Editorial Review Board for CMG 2007 Conference.
Since 2007, Banu is working on information architecure and business intelligence in Akbank. Her main interests are Master Data Management, Customer Relationship Management systems and Operational Data Warehouse Systems.
Banu is an IBM Certified Business Intelligence Solution Designer – DB2 Business Intelligence V8.
Banu is the manager of the Business Intelligence Coordination Center in Akbank. She is currently working on implementing an operational reporting environment and a real-time data warehouse system in Akbank.
