Dr. Vladimir Bacvanski

The IBM Data Champion Program. Dr. Vladimir BacvanskiDr. Vladimir Bacvanski has over two decades of experience in consulting, mentoring and training, focusing on architecture and design of mission critical distributed enterprise systems, tools, and model driven development approaches. A common theme in his engagements is architecture and design of high-performance persistence solutions, bringing together DB2 and WebSphere in enterprise Java applications. He is author of numerous courses that involve IBM’s data technologies and products, frequently in concert with WebSphere middleware and Rational tools.

Vladimir has extensive experience in software architecture, modeling, and methodologies, helping companies establish pragmatic solutions for projects and product lines as well as create enterprise standards for architecture, design, and software development lifecycle. His work spans organizations in financial, insurance, and engineering fields. He has helped a number of companies including US Treasury, US Navy, IBM, Dell, Hewlett Packard, JP Morgan Chase, Northwestern Mutual, Nokia, Lucent, Nortel Networks, General Electric, BAE Systems, AMD, and others to select, transition to, and apply best practices leading to successful solutions.

Vladimir received a doctoral degree in Computer Science from Aachen University of Technology in Germany (RWTH Aachen.

Vladimir is published worldwide and is an enthusiastic and frequent conference speaker. He served as a session chair and workshop organizer at many leading industry events. In the past, he was a recipient of a number of academic scholarships and grants. Together with his partners, he cofounded InferData, a premier training and consulting firm that helps clients worldwide productively apply Web 2.0, SOA, Java and other enterprise technologies.

Vladimir is member of IBM’s Customer Advisory Council.

Vladimir lives in Mountain View, California, and works with clients worldwide. Corporate office is located in Austin, Texas.
