This search is a keyword or key phrase search, not a Boolean search. It searches for current IBM software products exclusively. Results show in relevance order and consist of links to software product overview pages. Any combination of keyword and filter pull-down and check box selections can be used to arrive at optimal results.
To complete a basic keyword search, enter one or more keywords under Search for and click the Search button. An outlined box appears at the top of the page listing the keyword terms that were entered.
Optionally, select from the filter pull-down menu options and check boxes, and click the Search button.
To narrow the results of your first search, choose Search within results and enter more terms. If a filtered search returns no results, use fewer filters. Select the New keyword search to clear all previous selections and start over.
An outlined box appears at the top of the search section listing the keyword terms.
To make your search more effective:
- Be specific. Try using words that are unique or try adding descriptive words. For example, a search for "information management" might return too many results. If you're really looking for data server software, specify "data server".
- Try using synonyms. If you get too few results or Search doesn't find what you're looking for, try synonyms for your original words. For example, instead of searching for "voice software" try "speech software".
- Check your spelling. A single misspelled or mistyped word can change your results.
- Learn from your results. Your search might not return exactly what you're looking for, but scanning the results helps you see the words that were found and give you ideas for other searches.
Search isn't case sensitive, so don't worry about capitalization.
