    Pattern Overview

    CreditCardXpress supports the following capabilities:

    • Processes payment card (credit, purchase, debit and gift cards) transactions using Elavon, the third largest payment processor in North America. Elavon is rated the number 1 processing network by MasterCard ® for speed, availability and reliability.
    • Sends transactions directly to Elavon’s servers bypassing 3rd party processors. This eliminates the costs, performance and security issues involved with interacting with 3rd party processors.
    • Implemented consistent with the Payment Card Industries Data Security Standards.

    Browser based user interface that supports manual entry of transactions. A buy button interface to integrate the merchant’s shopping cart. A web service interface for use by programmers familiar with HTML or XML.

    Supports the following credit card transaction types: SALE, PRE-AUTHORIZATION, FORCE, CREDIT, and VOID. In addition, for debit cards it supports debit card SALE, CREDIT, CASHBACK and INQUIRY. Supports the following batch transaction types: CURRENT, PREVIOUS, PURGE and SETTLEMENT. Supports multiple merchant accounts and multiple Terminal IDs per merchant account. Uses an Identity Access Management (IAM) base to enforce user authentication and authorization.Supports the numerous security and quality control features including AVS, CVV2, 256-bit encryption, message digests, LUHN formula validation, card numbers masking, IBM and Elavon certification.

    Business Case

    CreditCardXpress provides a solution that securely sends credit card transactions direct to Elavon for processing. By sending transactions direct to Elavon, merchants avoid paying middleman fees and eliminate the middleman as a possible point of failure in the transaction processing network. This enables the merchant to negotiate their fee structure directly with the processor to obtain the most favorable fee structure.

    CreditCardXpress has been certified by both IBM and Elavon. The offering is updated on an ongoing basis in response to changes in Elavon’s gateway specification and to reflect changes in the PCI DSS standards.

    CreditCardXpress is offered as an alternative to having to spend months worth of design, code, test and certification effort required to build and maintain a roll-your-own payment solution.
