A highly advanced optimizing compiler for the AIX operating system, runs on IBM Power Systems including the POWER6 processors.
- Supports IBM Power System servers supported by AIX V5.3, AIX V6.1 and IBM i V6.1 PASE
- Features a wide range of optimizing features that let you generate highly-optimized 32-bit or 64-bit application code to run efficiently on a wide variety of processors and processor families
- Supports OpenMP Application Programming Interface V3.0, and related compiler options let you exploit symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) architectures with automatic parallelization of C and C++ program code as well as explicit parallelization of specifically selected sections of program code
- Introduces support for a number of features of the emerging C++0x standard
- New –qstrict suboptions that allow more fine-grained control over the –qstrict option
- Provides options to support application debugging with standard symbolic debugging tools and facilities to help you port application code from GNU C/C++
