WebSphere Development Studio for System i V6R1 offers significant enhancements to the IBM i5/OS host Integrated Language Environment (ILE) compilers.

IBM WebSphere Development Studio for System i V6R1 has been repackaged into three separate options, allowing you to order and install only the components that you need.
The orderable features in WebSphere Deveolopment Studio V6R1 include: ILE Compilers, Heritage Compilers and the Application Development ToolSet.
V6R1 includes significant enhancements to the IBM i5OS host integrated (ILE) compilers, including the ability to run concurrently in multiple threads.
As of this release, the WebSphere Development Studio Client is no longer included as part of the WebSphere Development Studio for System i software.
Effective December 12, 2008, for your convenience, the IBM Rational Team Concert for i V1.0 and IBM Rational Developer for i V7.5 trial CDs will be included in all WebSphere Development Studio for i V6R1 new and upgrade orders.
The IBM Rational Team Concert for i product contains the server and build system toolkit. The IBM Rational Developer for i product contains the IBM Rational Team Concert for i client. You need to download both trial products to utilize the functionalities for team collaboration and management of your RPG, COBOL, and Java applications.
