System requirements

The following are the hardware and software requirements for using VisualAge Pacbase 3.5 and its optional features. For more details, refer to the Installation Guide Server and client components.

VisualAge Pacbase z/OS CICS Server

Operating System Software Hardware
z/OS Operating System: z/OS 1.8. Monitor: CICS Transaction Server 3.2. Communication protocols: CPI-C or TCP-IP Socket. COBOL: COBOL Enterprise 3.4. Architecture: a Z server. Installation media: CD-ROM. Disk space: 300MB Minimum.

Operating System Software Hardware
z/OS Operating System: z/OS 1.8. Monitor: IMS version 8. Communication protocols: IMS Connect or MQ-IMS Bridge. COBOL: COBOL Enterprise 3.4. Architecture: a Z server. Installation media: CD-ROM. Disk space: 300MB Minimum.

COBOL runtime: - "Micro Focus" version: Micro Focus Server for COBOL version 5.0 - "AcuCobol" version: AcuCobol-Gt runtime 7.2 or Extend 8. Architecture: A UNIX server (AIX / HP-UX / Sun Solaris / Linux). Installation media: CD-ROM. Memory (RAM): 64MB. Disk space: 130MB minimum.
