To run the Rational Synergy 7.1 server with the IBM Informix database

One of the following operating systems must be installed on your computer:

  • VMware® ESX Server™ 3.5 running Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard or Enterprise Edition (32-bit or 64-bit)

  • Windows XP Professional SP3 (for evaluation purposes only)

  • Windows® Server 2003 R2 Standard or Enterprise Edition (32-bit or 64-bit)

  • Sparc Solaris® 10

  • Suse Enterprise Linux 10 SP2

  • Red Hat® Enterprise Linux 5 (32-bit or 64-bit)

  • IBM AIX® 6.1

The minimum hardware requirements are:

  • 2 GB free disk space

  • 2 GB RAM for the Rational Synergy server

  • A multi-processor or multi-core processor server class machine

Rational® directory server 5.0 and Rational® license Server 1.5 must be installed and operational.

To run the Rational Synergy 7.1 server with an Oracle® database

One of the following operating systems must be installed on your computer:

  • Solaris 10

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (32-bit or 64-bit)

  • IBM AIX 6.1

The minimum hardware requirements are:

  • 350 MB free disk space

  • 4 GB RAM for the Rational Synergy server

  • A multi-processor or multi-core processor server class machine

To run the Rational Synergy 7.1 client

One of the following operating systems must be installed on your computer:

  • IBM AIX 6.1

  • Red Hat Enterprise 5 (32-bit or 64-bit)

  • Suse Enterprise Linux 10 SP2

  • Solaris 10

  • Windows XP Professional SP3

  • Windows Vista Enterprise Edition SP1 (32bit or 64 bit)

  • Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard or Enterprise Edition (32-bit or 64-bit)

One of the following browsers must be installed on your computer:

  • Internet Explorer 6 SP1 or 7.0 for Windows XP and Windows 2003 clients

  • Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows Vista clients

  • Firefox 2.0 for IBM AIX clients

  • Firefox 3.0 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Solaris, Windows Vista, Windows XP & Windows 2003

The minimum hardware requirements are:

  • A Windows computer with a Pentium II 500 MHz single processor (Recommended: Pentium III 733+ MHz) OR a UNIX computer with a 200 MHz single processor (recommended: 400+ MHz)

  • 512 MB memory (recommended: 1024 MB)

  • 100 MB free disk space
