 VisualAge Smalltalk System Requirements for Linux
Please note that these are minimum system requirements. VisualAge® Smalltalk Enterprise Version 6.0 has been tested, and will be supported, at this level of pre-requisites.
Base Linux Requirements - Red Hat Linux Version 7.1 or 7.2
- Note that Linux is supported only on Intel x86 processors.
Server Workbench Requirements - To use TCP/IP interactive debug, the TCP/IP stack shipped with the system
Database Requirements - For local IBM database support, IBM DB2® (DB2 for Linux) Version 7.2
Web Connection Requirements - TCP/IP must be installed
- Web server supporting HTTP 1.0 and CGI 1.1
- For servlet interface, an HTTP server that supports servlets
- Web browser supporting HTML 2.0
Communications/Transactions Requirements - For the SSL protocol, OpenSSL 0.9.6c libraries are included. Current builds can be found at http://www.openssl.org.
- For the TCP/IP protocol, no additional software required over Red Hat Linux
- For the MQSeries® protocol, IBM MQSeries V5.2 and higher
Server Workbench Requirements - To use TCP/IP interactive debug, the TCP/IP stack shipped with the system
HTML Documentation Requirements - Netscape Communicator 4.51 or later
