Features and benefits
IBM Rational HATS V7.5 expands the capability of the HATS product to enable mobile device access to HATS applications and provide improved Web services capabilities. Specific new features include:
Visual Macro Editor, a new graphical editor for visually developing Rational HATS macros for robust and reliable Web services.
The latest runtimes supported. This includes deploying HATS applications to the following runtimes: IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0, IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1, IBM Lotus Expeditor V6.2, and Eclipse Rich Client Platform V3.4.
The latest development environment supported. The Eclipse 3.4 based IBM Rational development environments, including IBM Rational Application Developer V7.5 is supported.
Expands Firefox browser support to WebFacing and linked HATS/WebFacing applications.
IBM Rational Host Access Transformation Services (HATS) V7.5 is available to order in the following formats:
HATS for Multiplatforms and HATS for Linux on zSeries
Available for use with 3270 and 5250 applications.
HATS applications can be deployed for Web, portal, rich client and mobile access.
HATS applications can be deployed on any supported platform (refer to server runtime requirements).
Ships with a restricted WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Network Deployment license.
HATS for 5250 applications on Multiplatforms
Available for use with 5250 applications only.
HATS applications can be deployed for Web, portal, rich client, and mobile access.
HATS applications can be deployed on any supported platform with the exception of i5/OS and IBM i (refer to server runtime requirements).
Ships with a restricted WebSphere Application Server (WAS) - Express license.
HATS for 5250 applications on i5/OS
Available for use with 5250 applications only.
HATS applications can be deployed for Web, portal, rich client, and mobile access.
HATS applications can be deployed on i5/OS and IBM i (refer to server runtime requirements).
Notes:
1. Please consult the HATS V7.5 Announcement letter for the Program Unique Terms that describe how WebSphere Application Server - Express and WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment may be used.
2. All end users of HATS Rich Client applications MUST be licensed as Authorized Users.
3. Products labeled with "for Linux on zSeries" are intended for customers focused on deploying HATS applications to System z. However, customers are not restricted to deploying HATS applications to System z.
4. The HATS Toolkit includes the WebFacing Tool which was formerly shipped with WebSphere Development Studio Client and WebSphere Development Studio Client Advanced Edition.
5. HATS is also available as part of the IBM Host Integration Solution (HIS).
6. Both HATS and HIS include other IBM Rational and WebSphere products. Periodic updates may be made to the packaging to include new features, functions or platform support.
