XL Fortran is a standards-based Fortran compiler with extensive features to help you create high performance applications.
A highly advanced optimizing compiler for the Linux operating system, runs on IBM Power Systems including the POWER6 processors.
- Supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 (RHEL 5.2) for IBM POWER and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (SLES 11) for IBM POWER
- Supports a subset of the OpenMP Application Programming Interface V3.0 including task level parallelization and loop parallelization
- Includes a complete implementation of the OpenMP API Version 2.5 that can be used to improve program performance on machines featuring multiple processors
- The OPEN and INQUIRE statements have been updated with the ENCODING= specifier to indicate the encoding form of the file
- Enhancements to –qstrict include 16 new suboptions for greater control over optimization transformations
- –qreport now contains information about how many streams are created for each loop and which loops cannot be SIMD vectorized due to non-stride-one references
- Provides options to support application debugging with standard symbolic debugging tools
