Workstation APL2 Version 2 Service Level 18

The IBM APL Products and Services group is pleased to announce Service Level 18 for Workstation APL2 for Multiplatforms Version 2.0. This new service level is available for all Workstation APL2 platforms including AIX, Linux, Sun Solaris, and Windows.

Along with fixes for customer reported problems, Service Level 18 contains the following enhancements:

All platforms:

• The performance of the iota, member and without primitives is improved for vectors of integer vectors.
• The RF external function is extended to support nested matrices whose subitems are all simple character or integer arrays of any rank.
• Java exception information is returned in the error report for Processor 14.
• The EDITOR command has a new option to enable support for Unicode files.

Windows:

• Access keys (mnemonics) have been enabled in the Session Manager and Object Editor menus.
• Shift+F10 displays the popup menu.
• Save As, Open Object and Recent Files have been added to the Object Editor's Object menu.
• Support has been added for dragging and dropping marked text.
