Application Performance Analyzer for z/OS

BUSINESS FLEXIBILITY:

An initial release of a Windows GUI is included that provides a workstation interface to create sample requests and view reports like those previous available via the host ISPF interface.

Support is provided for multiple DB2 address spaces specific stored procedure requests. Multiple DB2 address spaces are now supported for collateral DB2 activity.

Sampling support for multiple IMS address spaces is added.

Support for multiple instances of CICS address spaces for sampling requests is included.

For IMS region measurements, repeating program attributes in the S02 (Load module attributes) report are eliminated.

Additional System z Integrated Information Processor (zIIP) and System z Application Assist Processor (zAAP) reporting is added to permit users to determine the utilization of these processors for the sampled applications.

Support for Java virtual machine V5 is added.

Currency support for IBM IMS V11 and IBM CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) V4.1 is provided.

IT SIMPLIFICATION:

The Application Performance Analyzer sample file size is reduced. A notification is sent when sampling terminates when the sample file limit is exceeded.

An installation option is added to make the sampling request description a mandatory field.

The user import of sample files is now externalized so that you can move sample files from one machine to another.
