WebSphere Business Monitor

IBM WebSphere Business Monitor is comprehensive business activity monitoring (BAM) software that provides business users and managers with a real-time and end-to-end view of business processes and operations. It is a core part of the WebSphere Dynamic Process Edition foundational offering of the IBM Business Process Management (BPM) Suite, and is also available as a standalone product.

It provides customisable business dashboards that calculate and display key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics derived from business processes, business activity data, and business events from a wide range of information sources. Business users can view these KPIs, metrics, and alerts through various means including lightweight Web interfaces, Smartphones such as Blackberry devices and iPhones, via corporate portals, and on desktops. These offer business users immediate actionable information and insight into their business operations to mitigate problems or take advantage of opportunities. Rich analytics provide additional insight into the business operations and processes allowing business users to make better, more informed decisions based on historical and trending data.

By providing the business users with process visibility in their daily workspace, WebSphere Business Monitor enables IT departments to focus on higher value projects and innovative solutions. WebSphere Business Monitor enables IT to very quickly develop Monitoring solutions to provide a comprehensive view of the business by collecting real-time events from a wide variety of sources.

New z/OS Support

WebSphere Business Monitor for z/OS V7.0 further extends the extensive distributed platform for monitoring of events native to the mainframe platform. It will also exploit and complement z/OS qualities of service such as high availability at low cost per transaction, as the IBM WebSphere Business Monitor for z/OS V7.0 workload is eligible for off-load to the System z Application Assist Processors (zAAPs).
