WLS overview
Web-based Learning Solutions (WLS), an easy-to-use learning and support system, enriches its existing configurations with CATIA / ENOVIA / SMARTEAM Version 5 Release 15 product enhancements. V5R15 delivers improvements stemming from the first successful large-scale deployments that address OEMs and their supply chains.
Improvements introduced by this release can be classified in three areas:
Reduced infrastructure requirements for deployment
An improved server-thin client model now supports an easier deployment of a Companion solution, whatever the scale, with no need to install anything on the client.
The communication with Learning Management Systems (LMS), based on AICC and SCORM standards, has been enriched, allowing a company to implement an effective e-learning strategy monitored by LMS and using the learning resources of a Companion solution.
Easy customization to corporate standards
Any customized content, such as additional courseware, specific methodologies, and process descriptions, can be quickly authored and easily integrated into a Companion learning environment. This allows for the quick deployment of an OEM’s specific methods to its supply chain, efficiently sharing methodologies to ensure a consistent view across the extended enterprise.
New review management tools allow increased productivity and facilitate the development of new Companion content.
Long lasting investment
V5R14 to V5R15 update courses allow users to self-train on all the new capabilities of the products covered by a Companion. This approach guarantees that the newly installed version is used to its full capability.
