CATIA V4 AEC Ductwork Design (ADW)

Overview

CATIA V4 AEC Ductwork Design (ADW) provides extensive automation tools for the entire ductwork design process. Easily place and orient fully defined parametric duct parts found in process and power plants and ships. ADW is a fully integrated product that excels in ductwork: creation, modification, validation, drawing extractions, and powerful catalog creation. As are all CATIA/CADAM AEC Plant Design products, ADW is integrated across disciplines. For example, piping, structures, and equipment, and allows the routing of ducts along multi-discipline objects. Intelligent duct placement is fully parametric and respects default and/or user specifications and standards.

Features

  • Advanced parametric duct definitions and placement
  • Rectangular, round and flat oval duct routing
  • Rules-based design checking
  • Powerful attribute modification features
  • Fully customizable user extraction formats
  • Auto generated ductline labels
  • Full multi-discipline integration with interference management facilities
  • Standard modifiable ductwork parts catalog
  • National language and multi-platform support

Key customer benefits

  • Modification and placement
Generate quick ductlines with default duct specifications and standards. Flexible routing and part placement capabilities are based on industry standard ducting terminology and accepted techniques and practices.

  • Ductwork extractions
Comprehensive reporting capabilities include several tools to locate and report on the ducts, duct components, or ductlines within a project. Bills of materials are produced as reports on duct contents based on user specified data. As a time saving user convenience, standard extractions are provided and include: ductwork overview list, round ductwork list, rectangular ductwork list, flat oval ductwork list and parts list (round elbows, rectangular transitions, tees, or access covers) and their respective locations.

  • Validation and checking features
The combined powers of the navigation and query capabilities, provide the user the ability to easily obtain ductline or component identification, location, and validation. Network analysis and connectivity checking isolate overlooked or hard to find errors early in the design process providing information to aid the designer with corrective action. Advanced interference management facilitates correct management of plant space.

  • Get into production fast
Quickly get to work with rapid project setup. ADW comes with initial, customizable catalogs, with parametric parts that include standard parts (elbow, transitions, tees, flanges, gasket, and access covers).

  • System-wide features
Productivity features common throughout the products within the broad CATIA/CADAM Plant family include context-sensitive on-line help and documentation to increase job productivity and rapid learning. The system benefits from real-time shading and hidden-line removal, allowing users to work with realistic 3D model images.
