    Title

    IBM Hyperwise Version 3.0

    Overview

Hyperwise is a productivity tool for application and information developers that enables What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) authoring of hypertext on-line information and application help for OS/2(R) Warp, Microsoft* Windows 3.x and Windows 95.

With Hyperwise, developers can simply drag-and-drop to link text, audio, video, and graphics. Developers can link to audio (.WAV and .MID), video (.AVI), and animation (.FLC and .FLI) extension files supported in OS/2 Warp.

Hyperwise Version 3.0 now provides more editing features and has more HTML file support for Internet documents than previous versions. Hyperwise Version 3.0 also helps you save time and resources by enabling you to author text once and read it in the OS/2 Warp, Windows 3.x, Windows 95, environments, as well as the Internet. Additional features of Hyperwise Version 3.0 also make it easy for education specialists to create interactive tutorials for OS/2 applications.

The Information Presentation Facility (IPF) for Microsoft Windows is packaged with Hyperwise Version 3.0, so the same information compiled for OS/2 IPF is viewable on Windows 3.x and Windows 95. This single sourcing increases productivity and enables developers to use OS/2 for their development platform.

Hyperwise Version 3.0 continues to require limited disk space to store output exporting a readable format that compresses text and graphics up to 80%.

    Intended Customers

    Key Prerequisites

Hyperwise Version 3.0 requires OS/2 Warp Version 3 or later

    At a Glance

Hyperwise Version 3.0 features: Planned Availability Date: December 1996

    Description

Hyperwise is an OS/2 application available for authoring and editing of application help information. Hyperwise lets you assemble multimedia content into books, online documents, and application help files. It allows links to text, graphics, audio, video, animation, and other OS/2 programs from one document. Hyperwise can export information to IPF, INF, HLP, and HTML file formats.

    Product Positioning

While competitors would require customers to purchase a separate editor, linker and compiler at an overll greater cost, Hyperwise leverages all of that functionality into one product. Hyperwise Version 3's ability to grow with technology and media also makes it more attractive. Facilitating customer reuse of information is yet another key feature.

The IPF for Windows engine packaged with Hyperwise, makes it a product that satisfies the cross-platform application and information development concern that is so common today. Application and information developers are encouraged to use OS/2 Warp as their authoring and development platform.
