|
To support PHP applications, IBM i includes Zend Core from Zend Technologies Inc., The PHP Company. Zend Core delivers a PHP runtime environment for IBM i that includes the Zend Toolkit for integration with IBM i applications and DB2® data. Zend Core also includes the Zend Framework to enhance developer productivity. PHP is a popular scripting language for Web applications that can be used to modernize existing applications, create new applications, or deploy applications available through the PHP community.
An installation image of Zend Core is included with IBM i 5.4 and 6.1. You simply install Zend Core to start running PHP applications on IBM i. One year of Silver support from Zend is also included. It offers Web-based support, hot fixes, and product updates. Zend Core is licensed and supported by Zend Technologies.

IBM i 5.4 and 6.1 now include Zend Core from Zend Technologies Inc. One year of Silver support from Zend gives you Web-based support, hot fixes, and product updates. Zend Core is licensed and supported by Zend Technologies.
You can order additional Zend products and support services from IBM for fulfillment by Zend. Offerings available through IBM include:
- Gold and Platinum support from Zend for Zend Core
- Zend Studio, an integrated development environment, with Gold and Platinum support from Zend
- Zend Platform, offering advanced monitoring, optimization, the 5250 Bridge, and the Java™ Bridge with Silver, Gold, and Platinum support from Zend
