IBM Flex System Fabric EN4093R 10 Gb Scalable Switch - 95Y3309

This 10 Gb scalable switch offers uncompromised scalability, throughput, and performance. This switch can help clients migrate to 10 Gb infrastructure and offers virtualization features like Virtual Fabric and VMready® . Clients should consider this switch if they:

Some of the key features of this switch are:

IBM Flex System Fabric CN4093 10 Gb Converged Scalable Switch - 00D5823

This 10 Gb converged scalable switch offers uncompromised scalability, throughput, and performance. This switch can help clients save cost and reduce complexity by combining 10 GbE, 8 Gb native Fibre Channel and/or 40 GbE ports in a high-performance platform. Clients should consider this switch if they:

Some of the key features of this switch are:

IBM Flex System Fabric CN4093 10 Gb Converged Scalable Switch (Upgrade 1) - 00D5845

This switch upgrade can be applied when you requireadditional uplink support for 2 ports of 40 Gb (or 8 ports of 10 Gb with optional break-out cables). The upgrade will enable 14 additionl internal 10 Gb ports, one to each compute node, and two 40 Gb uplinks. These 40 Gb uplinks are QSFP+ connectors but can beconverted to four 10 Gb uplinks using an optional break-out cable.

IBM Flex System Fabric CN4093 10Gb Converged Scalable Switch (Upgrade 2) - 00D5847

This switch upgrade can be applied independent of Upgrade 1 oron top of Upgrade 1 when you want to support 6 additional external Omni ports or if you just want more uplink bandwidth on the base switch. This upgrade will also enable 14 additional internal 10 Gb ports, one to each compute node.

IBM Flex System FC5022 8/16 Gb SAN Scalable Switch Upgrade Keys

88Y6382 - IBM Flex System F5022 16 Gb SAN Scalable Switch (Upgrade 1) License key to activate additional 12 ports on the base 12-port FC switch (prerequisite for key 88Y6386).

88Y6386 - IBM Flex System F5022 16 Gb SAN Scalable Switch (Upgrade 2) License key to activate additional 24 ports on all bases. 12-port base (88Y6374) requires key 88Y6382 first.

00Y3320 - IBM Flex System FC5022 16 Gb Fabric Watch Upgrade License key to activate Fabric Watch License on the 12-port and 24-port base switches (non-ESB).

00Y3322 - IBM Flex System FC5022 16 Gb ISL Trunking Upgrade License key to activate ISL Trunking License on the 12-port and 24-port base switches (non-ESB).

Equipment approvals and safety

Operating environment

The IBM Flex System Storage Expansion Node complies with ASHRAE Class A3 specifications.

Note: Government regulations (such as those prescribed by OSHA or European Community Directives) may govern noise level exposure in the workplace and may apply to you and your server installation. This IBM system is available with an optional acoustical door feature that can help reduce the sound emitted from this system. The actual sound pressure levels in your installation depend upon a variety of factors, including the number of racks in the installation; the size, materials, and configuration of the room; the noise levels from other equipment; the room ambient temperature; and employees' location in relation to the equipment. Further, compliance with such government regulations also depends upon a variety of additional factors, including the duration of employees' exposure and whether employees wear hearing protection. IBM recommends that you consult with qualified experts in this field to determine whether you are in compliance with the applicable regulations.

Compatibility

Contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner, or refer to the IBM Sales Manual for information on the compatibility of hardware and software for System x servers. The Sales Manual is updated periodically as new features and options are announced that support these servers.

Limitations

Regarding the use of solid-state disk drives, solid-state memory cells have an intrinsic, finite number of write cycles that each cell can incur. As a result, each solid-state device has a maximum amount of write cycles to which it can be subjected, documented as TBW (Total Bytes Written). IBM is not responsible for replacement of hardware that has reached the maximum guaranteed number of write cycles. This limit may be revealed as the device failing to respond to system-generated commands or becoming incapable of being written to. Additional information is available at

http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/x/options/storage/solidstate/index.html
