Overview
Bottom rule

Orchestration and automation across multiple technologies, cloud platforms, and service provider environments have become complex with a wide range of challenges.

Based on IBM's vast experience of deploying IBM and non-IBM multitechnology products and services, and best practices derived, IBM Cloud Deployment Services (CDS) takes a multilayer approach for heterogeneous workload orchestration and automation. CDS orchestrates infrastructure and application solutions across legacy and cloud platforms through logical service modeling (blueprinting through "Patterns"). It integrates blueprints with IT service management systems like service request, configuration management, and SLA management through next-generation automation, bringing flexibility, simplicity, and an intuitive consumer interface to the service.

CDS not only enables developers and business consumers to directly access legacy, private, and public cloud services, but at the same time maintains centralized processes to ensure high quality, control, compliance, and audit readiness that large corporate enterprises need.

CDS improves business efficiency, operations agility, and service up-time while enforcing standardization. It optimizes the cost through resource and capacity management.

This offering enables clients to:

  • Orchestrate and automate delivery of infrastructure, application, and custom IT services using Patterns. A Pattern is a repeatable and intelligible form of code to automate infrastructure, middleware builds, and operations.
  • Deploy application workloads across on-premises and off-premises environments (for example, public and private clouds).
  • Support direct integration of service management capability.
  • Enable the design and build of solution blueprints using Patterns.
  • Provide user-defined policy-based governance and logical application modeling to ensure that multivendor, multicloud services are delivered at the right size and service level for each task performed.
  • Enhance the monitoring and control by tracking budgets, billing, metering, and charge back.
  • Include automation of both plan/build/deployment (day-0 and day-1) and delivery/support (day-2) services.
