IBM is extending the end-of-service date of IBM WebSphere Application Server V6.1 from September 30, 2012 to September 30, 2013. IBM strongly encourages you to migrate to more currently supported versions of WebSphere Application Server and this change to the end-of-service date provides more time for you to better plan a successful migration. Moving to current versions of WebSphere Application Server provides a much broader set of functions (for both developers and operations) and improves performance and total cost of ownership.
