IBM Informix Growth Edition V11.50
Informix Growth Edition is a high performance, more reliable, easier-to-administer edition of the Informix family that helps mid-market partners and businesses develop and deploy business solutions. Features include HDR, Enterprise Replication, SQL Warehousing Tool, Label Based Access Control, and clustering up to three nodes. These features enable a broad spectrum of application and solution development.
IBM Informix Ultimate Edition V11.50
Informix Ultimate Edition delivers higher performance, unlimited scalability, and higher availability with lower cost of ownership. Informix Ultimate Edition is designed for large ISVs and enterprise data centers.
XPS Storage Optimization Feature for IBM Informix Extended Parallel Server (XPS) V8.51FC3
This optional XPS Storage Optimization Feature for Informix XPS V8.51FC3 is available on the Processor Value Unit (PVU) charge metric. This feature can help reduce storage costs while improving query performance through reduced disk I/Os and improved efficiency of memory buffer pools usage. You can select which tables and fragments to compress to optimize business customization. In addition, XPS V8.51FC3 contains enhanced disk space management that allows rows of a table to be repacked for storage optimization and empty extents at the end of a table to be truncated to release unused space.
If you have IBM Data Management Gold Program - Business Intelligence Offering entitlements, you may acquire the XPS Storage Optimization Feature separately.
In addition, the processor charge metric is being converted to PVUs for IBM Informix Extended Parallel Server (XPS) and IBM DB2 Business Intelligence.

Informix Innovator-C Edition is a no-charge, non-warranted production-ready, community-edition data server that is designed to help developers, mid-market partners, ISVs, and small businesses accelerate time to value and reduce total cost of ownership. Informix Innovator-C Edition is part of the IBM Informix data server family that is designed to support autonomic administration, higher performance, and greater reliability. It includes the powerful Enterprise Replication feature that helps replicate data between two Informix Innovator-C Edition installations for scalability and availability. It also includes Informix HDR with a warm or hot standby node for automatic failover.
IBM Informix Ultimate-C Edition for Windows® and Mac OS X
Informix Ultimate-C Edition for Windows and Mac OS X is a no-charge, non-warranted, feature-rich edition for Microsoft® Windows and Mac OS X developers, solution providers, and ISVs. Charge metrics definitions
Processor Value Unit (PVU)
PVU is the unit of measure by which this program is licensed. PVU entitlements are based on processor families (vendors and brands). A Proof of Entitlement (PoE) must be obtained for the appropriate number of PVUs based on the level or tier of all processor cores activated and available for use by the program on the server.
Some programs offer sub-capacity licensing (licensing to less than the full capacity of the server's activated processor cores). For programs that offer sub-capacity licensing, if a server is partitioned utilizing eligible partitioning technologies, PoE must be obtained for the appropriate number of PVUs based on all activated processor cores available for use in each partition where the program runs or is managed by the program.

The PVU entitlements are specific to the program and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with PVU entitlements of another program.

Authorized User single install
Licensee must acquire a separate Authorized User single install license entitlement for each Authorized User of the program accessing each individual install.
Authorized User single install is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. An Authorized User is a unique person who is given access to the program. An install is an installed copy of the program on a physical or virtual disk made available to be executed on a computer. The program may be installed on any number of computers or servers, but if the Authorized User has accessed or has access to more than one Install of the program, the Authorized User requires a separate entitlement for each such install.
Licensee must obtain separate, dedicated entitlements for each Authorized User accessing the program on each install in any manner directly or indirectly (for example: via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means. An entitlement for an Authorized User is unique to that Authorized User and may not be shared, nor may it be reassigned other than for the permanent transfer of the Authorized User entitlement to another person.
A client device is considered a separate Authorized User of the program and requires an entitlement as if that client device were a person.
Concurrent Session
A Concurrent Session is a logical connection made between each database instance created by an install and a client device. Each such connection is counted as a Concurrent Session whether or not it is actually in use and regardless of the duration of the connection and period of activity. If an individual end user establishes multiple connections, each one is counted as a separate Concurrent Session, even if they share a common physical pathway. From the day the licensee began using the program, the highest number of connections established at any time for each database instance created by an install will be counted for purposes of determining the total Concurrent Session entitlements required. The licensee must acquire entitlements for the greatest number of logical connections established at any time for all database instances created by each install.
Each logical connection made between a client device and a copy of a database instance created by an install is counted as a Concurrent Session for which an entitlement is required. For example, if there are two different installs and each creates two separate database instances, and a single client device is connected to each database instance on both installs, then four Concurrent Sessions have been established and a PoE must be acquired for each of them. As a further example, if four database instances are created by two different installs and a single client device is connected, directly or indirectly, to each of the four database instances of the program, then eight Concurrent Sessions have been established and a PoE must be acquired for each of them.
The licensee must obtain separate, dedicated entitlements for each Concurrent Session that is in existence or has been in existence. An entitlement for a Concurrent Session is unique to that client device and a specific database instance created for an install may not be shared, nor may it be reassigned other than for the permanent replacement of that client device with another client device.
Each logical connection from a client device made, directly or indirectly, to a database instance created for an Install, through connections from within the licensee's enterprise, or through the Internet (connections from outside licensee's enterprise), is counted as a separate Concurrent Session and a separate entitlement (PoE) must be acquired for such Concurrent Session.
A PoE is required for each Concurrent Session established to access the program or any program component, either directly or indirectly, through any means. An example of "indirect" access would be through a multiplexing program, client device, or application server. The number of connections is not reduced by any program, client device, or machine, such as a front-end server, application server, or multiplexer, which may be used to connect, manage, and concentrate the logical connections.
Install
Install is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. An install is an installed copy of the program on a physical or virtual disk made available to be executed on a computer. The licensee must obtain an entitlement for each install of the program.

Limited warranty
IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible for the results obtained from the use of the program.
IBM provides you with access to IBM databases containing information on known program defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no additional charge. For further information, consult the IBM Software Support Handbook found at
IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee acquires the program (warranty period).
Program technical support
Technical support of a program product will be available for a minimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates, releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee.
Money-back guarantee
For clarification, note that if for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.
For clarification, note that for programs acquired under the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement, this term applies only to your first acquisition of the program.
For clarification, note that for programs acquired under any of IBM's On/Off CoD software offerings, this term does not apply since these offerings apply to programs already acquired and in use by you.
Authorization for use on home/portable computer

Yes. Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) is included with licenses purchased through Passport Advantage and Passport Advantage Express. Product upgrades and technical support are provided by the Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) offering as described in the Agreements. Product upgrades provide the latest versions and releases to entitled software and Technical Support provides voice and electronic access to IBM support organizations, worldwide.
IBM includes one year of Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) with each program license acquired. The initial period of Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) can be extended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available.
While your Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) is in effect, IBM provides you assistance for your routine, short duration installation and usage (how-to) questions, and code-related questions. IBM provides assistance via telephone and, if available, electronic access, to your information systems (IS) technical support personnel during the normal business hours (published prime shift hours) of your IBM support center. (This assistance is not available to your end users.) IBM provides Severity 1 assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For additional details, consult your IBM Software Support Handbook at
