Effective September 30, 2005, IBM will withdraw support from the following product releases licensed under the IBM International Program License Agreement:

Number Program Name Release
5698-GS2 Tivoli(R) SecureWay(R) V3.7.0
                       Global Sign-On
5724-C72 IBM Tivoli Switch V1.1.0

Replacement information: The following table includes the replacement products for the products whose service discontinuance is being announced:

Product Replacement product
IBM Tivoli Switch Analyzer IBM Tivoli Switch Analyzer
 V1.1 (5724-C72) V1.2 (5724-C72)
Tivoli SecureWay Global Refer to note below
 Sign-On V3.7 (5698-GS2)

Note: Given the fundamental shift toward the Web-based hosting of applications, IBM is discontinuing the provision of a client-based Single Sign-On (SSO) solution. While there is no replacement for IBM Global Sign-On V3.7, IBM Tivoli Access Manager for e-business provides authentication centralization for enterprise applications by providing a bridge and SSO capability between Web-based authentication and other sign-on mechanisms such as Microsoft™ Desktop (using Kerberos negotiated using SPNEGO), WebSphere® Trust Association Intercepter (TAI), and partnerships with traditional Client SSO vendors such as ActivCard. In addition, IBM Tivoli Identity Manager provides for the implementation of "reduced sign-on" in client/server and other applications by allowing a user to maintain a single identity and password, and synchronizing password changes across multiple logon locations.
