Overview

IBM Storage Optimization and Integration Services — scale out file services is a multilayer, managed file storage virtualization service designed to support your storage optimization efforts. It can help you alleviate your data storage challenges by implementing a scalable clustered network attached storage (NAS) system. Deployment is flexible and is available at your site, or an IBM delivery center. The system can be self-managed by you or managed by IBM. The service includes:

  • Virtualized file storage that provides storage and server consolidation to help eliminate fragmentation and may help improve utilization
  • A unified management platform that may help reduce storage management labor demands and costs
  • Nondisruptive maintenance and dynamic node and storage capacity scaling that may help reduce outages
  • Cost-effective disaster recovery and business continuity options through advanced data replication
