Modification: IBM storage products no-charge removal program
Announcement Letter Number 312-111
Effective September 11, 2012, the IBM® storage products no-charge removal program has been modified.
The following changes are being made with this announcement:
All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
This announcement supersedes Announcement Letter 312-051 dated April 25, 2012.
Customers benefit from having IBM remove their old equipment at no charge to them.
IBM will provide pickup and proper disposal of designated installed storage Replaced Machines, at no additional charge, when you acquire new IBM eligible DASD or tape storage Replacement Machines or upgrade existing installed machines to eligible DASD or tape storage Replacement Machine models.

Start and/or end dates
For purchase transactions, invoices for eligible new Replacement Machines must be dated on or after September 11, 2012.
For lease transactions, signed and accepted Leasing Certificates of Acceptance or lease contracts with "Deemed Acceptance" for the eligible Replacement Machines must have a lease commencement date of on or after September 11, 2012.
Contracts required for the no-charge return of designated installed Replaced Machines must be received by IBM no later than 30 calendar days after the IBM invoice date or lease commencement date for an eligible new Replacement Machine or upgrade to an eligible Replacement Machine model.
IBM must be contacted to schedule pickup of Replaced Machines no later than nine months following the IBM invoice date or lease commencement date for an eligible new Replacement Machine or upgrade to an eligible Replacement Machine model.

The lessee of a Replaced Machine financed by IBM Global Financing must purchase the Replaced Machine and pay all related buyout charges before returning it to IBM.
A Replaced Machine currently under an Installation Payment Agreement (IPA) or an Installment Payment Master Agreement (IPMA) must be paid for in full by the customer before returning it to IBM.
IBM reserves the right to modify or withdraw this program at any time.
This program is subject to the terms and conditions of any applicable Agreements.
In order to qualify for no-charge pickup of Replaced Machines, you must do the following:
No trade-in credit will be issued for Replaced Machines under the terms of this program.
