Abstract

The following Windows(1) 3.1-based self-study courses provide instruction in two different Windows subject areas.

UNIX**, OS/2(R), and Windows NT** is for anyone with responsibility for selecting and acquiring a multiprogramming operating system for personal computers (also available in a DOS version).

  • Course Duration: 8 hours
  • Prerequisites: General computer awareness
Programming with Visual Basic is directed at Windows application developers who program using the Visual Basic event-driven language.
  • Course Duration: 10 hours
  • Prerequisites: Good user knowledge of Windows 3.1, as well as some experience in using Visual Basic as provided by the course, Fundamentals of Visual Basic.
The courseware in this announcement is available from Skill Dynamics(TM), An IBM Company, as part of the IBM Cooperative Courseware Development Program. Program information has been supplied by the program supplier, CBT Systems, Ltd., an IBM Business Partner and IBM Cooperative Courseware Development Program participant.

Hardware Requirements:

  • IBM or IBM-compatible personal computer with at least a 386 microprocessor, or other hardware platforms with DOS emulation capability
  • Enough space on the hard drive to install the course (see disk space chart which follows)
  • 5.25-inch or 3.5-inch high-capacity (1.2MB or 1.44MB) diskette drive
