| Description |
InfoSphere Data Replication V10.1.3
Enhancements to Q Replication technology for business continuity include:
- Automatic replication of the following DB2 data definition language (DDL):
- Create and drop table:
- Supports both bidirectional and unidirectional configurations
- Automatically creates a replication subscription for the new table, with optional customization to match specific configuration requirements
- Replicates complete table creation with indexes, triggers, and more (added prior to first table usage)
- Includes initial load of the new table at the target, if required
- Alter add column
- Alter data type
- Create and drop table:
- Bypass replication of child rows in the case of cascade delete to help reduce conflicts, and thereby improve performance
Enhancements to Q Replication Dashboard include:
- New alerts for:
- Subscriptions that become inactive
- Queues that are deactivated
- Capture latency that exceeds a user-defined threshold
- Operations that can be performed on schema-level subscriptions
- Individual table subscriptions that are grouped by schema-level subscription
- Improved usability, based on user feedback
Additional Q Replication enhancements include:
- A stand-alone Replication Center, separated from the deprecated DB2 Control Center
- New command line processor (CLP) commands for creating schema-level subscriptions
The Q Replication Dashboard has a web-based user interface for performance and health monitoring of Q Replication, including a mobile dashboard designed for the default browsers in touch-screen devices running Apple iOS 4.x, or later, and Google Android 2.2, or later.
InfoSphere Federation Server V10.1
Enhancements to InfoSphere Federation Server for use with DB2 and InfoSphere Warehouse include:
- Ability to extend DB2 PureScale to be a federated database server. This lets data sharing members process federated SQL.
- Ability to create nicknames using temporal tables.
- Support for DB2 Fine Grained Access Control, helping you take advantage of DB2 Fine Grained Access Control when using the DB2 Distributed Relational Database Architecture (DRDA®) wrapper.
Enhancements to InfoSphere Federation Server in support of data virtualization include:
- Improved performance for Netezza® data
sources:
- More SQL can be pushed down to Netezza for direct processing by Netezza. This means less data needs to be returned to InfoSphere Federation Server from Netezza, and more functions can be performed directly by Netezza instead of InfoSphere Federation Server.
- Bulk insert performance has increased up to 10x.
- New three-part name syntax compatibility with Oracle dblinks:
- Three-part names increase the ease of running Oracle applications under InfoSphere Federation Server when InfoSphere Federation Server Oracle SQL compatibility is used.
- InfoSphere Federation Server setup and maintenance is reduced because nicknames do not need to be created when three-part name syntax is used.
- Support for IBM BigInsights:
- DB2 user-defined functions (UDFs) can be installed in InfoSphere Federation Server databases for accessing large data through federated SQL.
- InfoSphere Federation Server databases can be accessed through the DB2 Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) interface found in BigInsights Jacl.
- Easier integration of data source clients:
- A new utility that greatly simplifies the process of configuring InfoSphere Federation Server for use with data source clients
- Improved performance for writing Large Objects (LOBs) to Teradata
Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act
IBM InfoSphere Federation Server will be capable as of June 11, 2012 , when used in accordance with IBM's associated documentation, of satisfying the applicable requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, provided that any assistive technology used with the product properly interoperates with it. A US Section 508 Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), containing details on the products accessibility compliance, can be requested on the following website

| Product positioning |
InfoSphere Data Replication V10.1.3 is integrated into the IBM Information Management software portfolio. This product is intended for:
- Companies that need business continuity solutions, including disaster recovery, high availability, and active-active databases, for relational data.
- Clients who need accurate and frequent sales and customer reports to make better operational decisions regarding pricing, merchandising, and inventory management. This is enabled through consolidation of key business data from diverse operational systems into a centralized data warehouse in near real time.
- Companies that require more business agility through real-time change data capture.
- Enterprises that require more business visibility through granular data changes in real-time business intelligence.
- Organizations that require the ability to increase responsiveness to business events and capitalize on upcoming business opportunities through event detection.
- Retailers who want to sell in stores, over the web, and by phone, and who need consistent up-to-date information accessible to all three channels. For example, ensuring that wedding registry purchases do not get duplicated and that customers can inquire over the phone or on the web about product availability and the status of orders completed through other channels.
- Public companies that require consolidated financial reporting across a range of transactional systems in different regions, departments, or business units.
- Companies that need to migrate data from an incompatible ERP application of an acquired company into their own ERP application (or between incompatible versions of an ERP application).
- Shipping companies that enable customers to access real-time shipment information on their websites while significantly reducing the impact on their mission-critical logistics systems they use to help ensure efficient, continuous operations.
- Government agencies that provide public access to up-to-date information on criminal proceedings on the Internet, but cannot risk letting users directly access sensitive information on offenders.
- Financial services companies that need to flow data from legacy financial systems on mainframes into systems on open platforms to support Internet-based communications, statement processing, and other applications more efficiently with minimal impact on key legacy systems.
- Health insurers that need to off-load queries, reports, and backups to avoid impacting performance and user response times on their claims processing systems that are essential for operations.

Authorized User
Authorized User is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. An Authorized User is a unique person who is given access to the program. The program may be installed on any number of computers or servers and each Authorized User may have simultaneous access to any number of instances of the program at one time. Licensee must obtain separate, dedicated entitlements for each Authorized User accessing the program in any manner directly or indirectly (for example, via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means. An entitlement for an Authorized User is unique to that Authorized User an may not be shared, nor may it be reassigned other than for the permanent transfer of the Authorized User entitlement to another person.
Note: Some programs may be licensed where devices are considered users. In that case, the following applies. Any computing device that requests the execution of or receives for execution a set of commands, procedures, or applications from the program or that is otherwise managed by the program is considered a separate user of the program and requires an entitlement as if that device were a person.
Install
Install is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. An install is an installed copy of the program on a physical or virtual disk made available to be executed on a computer. Licensee must obtain an entitlement for each install of the program.
Managed Server
Managed Server is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. A server is a physical computer that is comprised of processing units, memory, and input/output capabilities and that executes requested procedures, commands, or applications for one or more users or client devices. Where racks, blade enclosures, or other similar equipment is being employed, each separable physical device (for example, a blade or a rack-mounted device) that has the required components is considered itself a separate server. Licensee must obtain Managed Server entitlements for each server managed by the program.
Processor Value Unit (PVU)
PVU is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. The number of PVU entitlements required is based on the processor technology defined within the PVU table by processor value, brand, type, and model number at
It is also based on the number of processors made available to the program. IBM continues to define a processor, for the purpose of PVU-based licensing, to be each processor core on a chip. A dual-core processor chip, for example, has two processor cores.Licensee can deploy the program using either full capacity licensing or virtualization capacity (sub-capacity) licensing according to the Passport Advantage Sub-Capacity Licensing Terms (refer to web page below). If using full capacity licensing, licensee must obtain PVU entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores1 in the physical hardware environment made available to or managed by the program, except for those servers from which the program has been permanently removed. If using virtualization capacity licensing, licensee must obtain entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores made available to or managed by the program, as defined according to the Virtualization Capacity License Counting Rules at
- 1
- An activated processor core is a processor core that is available for use in a physical or virtual server, regardless of whether the capacity of the processor core can be or is limited through virtualization technologies, operating system commands, BIOS settings, or similar restrictions.
Notes:
- Some programs may require licenses for the program and what is being managed. In that case, the following applies: In addition to the entitlements required for the program directly, licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for this program sufficient to cover the processor cores managed by the program.
- Some programs may be licensed on a managed basis only. In that case, the following applies. Instead of the entitlements required for the program directly, licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for this program sufficient to cover the processor cores managed by the program.
- A few programs on an exception basis may be licensed on a referenced basis. In that case, the following applies. Rather than obtaining entitlements for the activated processor cores available to the program, licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for this program sufficient to cover the environment made available to the referenced program as if the program itself were executing everywhere the referenced program was executing, independent of the basis on which the referenced program is licensed.

Limited warranty
IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible for the results obtained from the use of the program.
IBM provides you with access to IBM databases containing information on known program defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no additional charge. For further information, consult the IBM Software Support Handbook found at
IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee acquires the program (warranty period).
Program technical support
Technical support of a program product version or release will be available for a minimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates (modifications or fixes), releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee.
Money-back guarantee
For clarification, note that if for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.
- For clarification, note that for programs acquired under the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement, this term applies only to your first acquisition of the program.

IT system security involves protecting systems and information through prevention, detection, and response to improper access from within and outside your enterprise. Improper access can result in information being altered destroyed or misappropriated or can result in misuse of your systems to attack others. Without a comprehensive approach to security, no IT system or product should be considered completely secure and no single product or security measure can be completely effective in preventing improper access. IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective. IBM does not warrant that systems and products are immune from the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
