IBM FileNet System Monitor V4.5.0 seamlessly integrates IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) products to help users achieve reliable and efficient operation of mission-critical ECM systems.

Automate routine operations

FileNet System Monitor helps you to reliably and efficiently manage your IBM ECM system components and infrastructure by automating routine system administration operations. FileNet System Monitor monitors and manages various IBM ECM components such as Library Manager and Resource Manager, Database, and IBM WebSphere® to guarantee the availability of ECM services to end users.

Proactive alerts

FileNet System Monitor alerts operators to current and future problems, thereby, enabling ECM administrators to proactively intervene and avoid disruptions or outages of mission-critical IBM ECM systems.

Event forwarding

FileNet System Monitor provides event forwarding from FileNet System Monitor to Enterprise Systems Management tools to enable IT Operations and Service Desk personnel to monitor the IBM ECM systems 24x7 using a standard management console.

ECM knowledge base

FileNet System Monitor incorporates an IBM ECM specific knowledge base to support the analysis of problems and events, and to assist support personnel with minimal knowledge of IBM ECM systems.

Tasks automation

FileNet System Monitor task automation allows support personnel to automatically start/stop IBM ECM systems or entire environments.

Pricing and licensing simplification

With FileNet System Monitor V4.5, server licensing is restructured from four server offerings to two Managed Virtual Server offerings that license all physical and virtual, core and non-core servers that are being managed.

Starter Edition

  • FIleNet System Monitor Managed Virtual Server - non-production Starter Edition license. For monitoring up to four Managed Virtual Server - non-production servers.

If you grow beyond four Managed Virtual Server production servers, you must upgrade the FileNet System Monitor Starter Edition licenses to FileNet System Monitor Managed Virtual Server - trade-up licenses to Managed Virtual Server - production licenses.

If you grow beyond four Managed Virtual Server non-production servers, you must upgrade the FileNet System Monitor Managed Virtual Server non-production - Starter Edition licenses to FileNet System Monitor Managed Virtual Server - non-production trade-up licenses to Managed Virtual Server - non-production licenses.

For example, if you start with four Managed Virtual Server production servers and want to monitor a fifth Managed Virtual Server production server, you must upgrade the first four Managed Virtual Server - Starter Edition licenses to Managed Virtual Server - production licenses to four Managed Virtual Server - trade-up licenses.

Charge metrics definitions

User Value Units

Employee User Value Units (UVU) are available.

Employee (EUVU): For collectively licensing all users who are internal to the organization. Replaces ELA Employee licensing. An Employee User is a unique person employed in licensee's enterprise, whether or not given access to the program, or a unique person otherwise paid by or acting on behalf of licensee's enterprise who is given access to the program in any manner directly or indirectly (for example, via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means. An entitlement for an Employee User is unique to that Employee User and may not be shared, nor may it be reassigned other than for the permanent transfer.

Product pricing

Each product has a fixed price per EUVU. Customers license the appropriate number of EUVUs to provide access to a corresponding user population.

Cumulative EUVU volume discounting

As the user quantity increases, the number of EUVUs increase albeit at a slower rate. Value Unit License Conversion Tables establish the required number of UVUs for a specified number of users.

EUVU licensing

EUVU licensing remains available and is unchanged.

Licensing

IBM International Program License Agreement including the License Information document and Proof of Entitlement (PoE) govern your use of the program. PoEs are required for all authorized use.

Part number products only, offered outside of Passport Advantage, where applicable, are license only and do not include Software Maintenance.

This software license includes Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance).

Limited warranty

IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible for the results obtained from the use of the program.

IBM provides you with access to IBM databases containing information on known program defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no additional charge. For further information, consult the IBM Software Support Handbook found at

IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee acquires the program (warranty period).

Program technical support

Technical support of a program product version or release will be available for a minimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates (modifications or fixes), releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee.

Money-back guarantee

For clarification, note that if for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.
