IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records V4.5.1 adds Starter Pack and Starter Pack Add-On licenses. They are available for use by 1 to 1,400 authorized users. The Starter Packs can be used by mid-sized customers who want to enable a comprehensive records management solution or by larger customers who want to address departmental records management requirements.
Since purchasing budgets are tight, you want to remain consistent with your long-term software deployment strategy, while purchasing smaller volumes of strategic products. You want to buy just the right amount of licenses for your current projects, requiring comprehensive records management functionality, enabling the option to easily evolve into full enterprise deployments at any time.
IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records V4.5.1 (formerly IBM FileNet® Records Manager) is an enterprise records management solution providing tools you can use to achieve ongoing governance of records to help ensure that business records remain trusted, accurate, compliant with user defined records retention policies, defensible, and relevant. IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records V4.5.1 combines content, process, federation, and connectivity capabilities designed to help you automate and streamline all records-based activities by supporting the entire lifecycle of records from creation to disposition. By utilizing IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records' full set of capabilities, including ZeroClick automation, you can implement and maintain best practice records declaration, classification, and records administration while minimizing the impact on the business user and records manager.
IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records V4.5.1 is a core component of the IBM ECM Information Lifecycle Governance (ILG) portfolio, a technology foundation providing tools that can be used as part of a regulatory compliance management strategy. Product upgrades provide the latest versions and releases to entitled software, and technical support provides voice and electronic access to IBM support organizations, worldwide.
IBM includes one year of Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) with each program license acquired. The initial period of Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) can be extended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available.
Security, auditability, and control
IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records and IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records Starter Pack uses the security and auditability features of the host hardware or software.
The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities.

The terms and conditions for IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records Starter Pack as previously announced in Software Announcement 209-287, dated October 06, 2009, are unchanged except the IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records Starter Pack is now available for any user quantity from 1 to 1,400 users.
Program technical support
Technical support of a program product will be available for a minimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. IBM has transformed its delivery of hardware and software support services to help you achieve higher system availability. Electronic Services is a web-enabled solution that offers an exclusive, no-additional-charge enhancement to the service and support available for IBM servers. These services are designed to provide the opportunity for greater system availability with faster problem resolution and preemptive monitoring. Electronic Services comprises two separate, but complementary, elements: Electronic Services news page and Electronic Services Agent.
The Electronic Services news page is a single Internet entry point that replaces the multiple entry points traditionally used to access IBM Internet services and support. The news page enables you to gain easier access to IBM resources for assistance in resolving technical problems.
The Electronic Service Agent™ is no-additional-charge software that resides on your server. It monitors events and transmits system inventory information to IBM on a periodic, client-defined timetable. The Electronic Service Agent automatically reports hardware problems to IBM. Early knowledge about potential problems enables IBM to deliver proactive service that may result in higher system availability and performance. In addition, information collected through the Service Agent is made available to IBM service support representatives when they help answer your questions or diagnose problems. Installation and use of IBM Electronic Service Agent for problem reporting enables IBM to provide better support and service for your IBM server.
