Kazakhstan Euro codepage is added for 3270 sessions.
- Codepage PRC GBK (936) for VT sessions: In earlier versions of
Host On-Demand, VT session support the UTF8 codepage but does not support
the native DBCS codepage. Therefore DBCS characters could not be input or
displayed correctly in a VT session if your host codepage was set to GB2312.
A new codepage PRC GBK is added to the host code page list in the Host On-Demand
VT session to resolve this issue.
- DBCS support for CustomTable paramete: The CustomTable parameter
now applies to the double-byte character set

IBM Host
Access Client Package for Multiplatforms offers a migration path from traditional
emulation to browser-based emulation. It focuses on TN5250, TN3270E, VT52/100/220/420,
and CICS® applications
support and provides an FTP/sftp client.
Personal Communications
Personal Communications is a key client component of the IBM Host Integration
portfolio for LAN, WAN, and remote access and connectivity. Personal Communications
provides access to applications and data whether residing on mid-range or
enterprise servers. Additionally, it can give you the optimal platform for
traditional access to data and applications on the host and includes new tools
to help transform your traditional business into an On Demand Business.
Through the use of Enterprise Extender in Personal Communications, you
can maintain the integrity of your SNA LU6.2/CPIC/APPC applications over IP.
This capability, both on desktops and in the communications servers, provides
a gateway back into the SNA environment. You have a solution that can solve
the problem of transporting these SNA applications over an IP network.
IBM Rational Host
On-Demand
Host On-Demand is intended for clients who want to provide secure, cost-effective
host access to other users in intranet- and extranet-based environments. Businesses
can extend the reach of their host applications and data to new users, including
business partners, suppliers, and sales personnel.
Host On-Demand gives users security-enhanced browser access to host applications
and data, with Web browser-based emulation. With support for host applications
for TN3270E, TN5250, VT52/100/220/420, and CICS, and an FTP/sftp client included in
a single package, users need to learn only one interface to reach key host
data. Because Host On-Demand is Java-based, users in different operating environments
get the same look and feel, and an identical feature set.
On-Demand is installed only on the Web server, and the Host On-Demand code
is downloaded via a Web site to the user's Web browser. Code maintenance,
updates, and configurations reside on the Web server. Users are automatically
notified of updates. The Host On-Demand cached client, or Web Start client,
can help reduce download and user idle time, help enhance productivity, and
help save significant expense in product deployment and maintenance.
Host On-Demand can be installed on nearly any server platform to fit nearly
any size organization or branch office. Host On-Demand is supported by your
choice of platforms, ranging from Windows 2003, AIX®, Solaris, HP, and Linux servers
to IBM i
and System
z mainframes. The benefit extends to the desktop as well. Because the
interface is Java-based, it is the same in every workstation environment,
whether it is Windows, Linux, Mac OS, or other supported workstation
environments.
With a rich Java toolset, including Host Access Beans for Java and
the API, you can help rapidly create custom on demand applications to achieve
a competitive advantage. Applications developed using the Host On-Demand toolset
can be incorporated into other WebSphere® software projects, helping
preserve your Host On-Demand investment and helping provide a quick start
to the Web.
Host On-Demand is recommended for installations that require low-cost,
centralized deployment; easy; centralized administration; and support for
a broad range of client and server platforms. Personal Communications is recommended
for full-function emulation, more extensive APIs, and a wider range of protocols
or connectivities, including APPN and other SNA technologies.

The information provided in this announcement letter is for reference and
convenience purposes only. The terms and conditions that govern any transaction
with IBM are
contained in the applicable contract documents such as the IBM International
Program License Agreement, IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement,
and the IBM Agreement
for Acquisition of Software Maintenance.
Licensing
IBM International Program License Agreement including the License Information
document and Proof of Entitlement (PoE) govern your use of the Program. PoEs
are required for all authorized use.
Part number products only, offered outside of Passport Advantage, where
applicable, are license only and do not include Software Maintenance.
This software license includes Software Subscription and Support (also
referred to as Software Maintenance).

Limited warranty applies
Yes
Warranty
IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment,
it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified
portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation
of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible
for the results obtained from the use of the program.
IBM provides you with access to IBM databases containing information on
known program defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no
additional charge. Consult the IBM Software Support Handbook for further
information at
- http://www.ibm.com/support/handbook
IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original
licensee acquires the program (warranty period).
Program technical support
Technical support of a program product will be available for a minimum
of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software
Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance
(via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented
questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product.
Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates, releases, and
versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of
discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional
technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance
date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension
may be available for a fee.
Money-back guarantee
If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the
original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it,
if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE
to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you
may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to
obtain the refund.
For programs acquired under the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement,
this term applies only to your first acquisition of the program.
Authorization for use on home/Portable computer
The program may be stored on the primary machine and another machine, provided
that the program is not in active use on both machines at the same time. You
may not copy and use this program on another computer without paying additional

for Multiplatforms, V7
Authorized User Licensing Model
The program is licensed only for use by an Authorized User.
Authorized User is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed.
An Authorized User is a unique person that is given access to the program.
The program may be installed on any number of computers or servers and each
Authorized User may have simultaneous access to any number of instances of
the program at one time. Licensee must obtain separate, dedicated entitlements
for each Authorized User accessing the program in any manner directly or indirectly
(for example: via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through
any means. An entitlement for an Authorized User is unique to that Authorized
User and may not be shared, nor may it be reassigned other than for the permanent
transfer of the Authorized User entitlement to another person.
Authorized Use
The program consists of IBM Rational Host On-Demand v11.0 ("HOD") and IBM Personal Communications
for Windows v6.0
("PCOMM"). The license to the program entitles licensee to use PCOMM or HOD
at any time individually, but never concurrently. Licensee is not authorized
to use PCOMM and HOD concurrently. References below to "program" in these
"program-unique Terms" shall mean either PCOMM or HOD. Except as modified
herein, Licensee's use of the program will be governed by the license that
accompanies HOD or PCOMM, as applicable.
Personal Communications, V6
If licensee installs the program on a server that can physically allow
more than one User at a time to access and use programs on that server, or
if licensee provides access to the program via an intermediate piece of software
which has the ability to consolidate different User's requests to access the
program and route those requests through one or more computers, only Authorized
Users for whom a license has been acquired may access and use the program.
The program may contain cryptography for data which is subject to special
export licensing requirements of the US Department of Commerce or other countries.
Refer to the program documentation or consult licensee's IBM representative
for details on the available level of encryption. Licensee is hereby notified
that use by, or transfer to, users in different countries of the same program,
may be prohibited or subject to special import laws, regulations, or policies
from the user's national government or special export laws, regulations, or
policies from licensee's national government. Licensee assumes all responsibility
for ensuring that the program is used or transferred in accordance with all
applicable import and export laws, regulations, and policies.
IBM Rational Host
On-Demand, V11
The program is licensed only for use by a single, Authorized User at a
time.
(for example, via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through
any means. An entitlement for an Authorized User is unique to that Authorized
User and may not be shared, nor may it be reassigned other than for the permanent
transfer of the Authorized User entitlement to another person.
If licensee installs the program on a server that can physically allow
more than one User at a time to access and use the program on that server,
or if licensee provides access to the program via an intermediate piece of
software which has the ability to consolidate different User's requests to
access the program and route those requests through one or more computers,
only Users for whom a license has been acquired may access and use the program.
Licensee assumes all responsibility
for ensuring that the program is used and transferred in accordance with all
applicable import and export laws, regulations, and policies.
The program contains the ctgclient.jar component of the CICS Transaction
Gateway V5.1 (Gateway classes). Licensee may only use the Gateway classes
if licensee has purchased a license for the CICS Transaction Gateway V5.1 (or higher)
program. Licensee's use of the Gateway classes is governed by the terms and
conditions of the license agreement that govern licensee's use of the CICS Transaction
Gateway program.
The program contains Host Access Beans for Java, Host On-Demand J2EE Connector, Host
Access Class Library, programmable HOD, and Session Manager API (each referred
to below as "components") that, subject to this Agreement, may be used by
licensee in other products within licensee's enterprise. Both the JavaBeans and
Host Access Class Library can be found in the "Host On-Demand Toolkit image".
This image can be found in the program packaging on the Host On-Demand V11
DVD.
For purposes of this Agreement, a "Product" shall mean a product that licensee
uses internally within licensee's enterprise for licensee's own internal business
purposes that includes the components. Subject to the terms and conditions
of this Agreement including, but not limited to, the authorized use restrictions
below, IBM grants
licensee the rights to reproduce these components and include the unmodified
components in products. It is licensee's responsibility to ensure that licensee
has secured all rights necessary from all applicable third parties to include
the components in these products.
Using or accessing a product shall be considered using or accessing the
program. The reason for this is that the product contains a component of the
program. Therefore, the total number of users concurrently accessing or using
a product and the total number of users concurrently accessing or using the
program may not exceed the total number of use authorizations that licensee
acquired for the program. By way of example, if at any one time licensee has
100 users using or accessing the program and 50 users accessing or using a
product, licensee must have acquired 150 user authorizations for the program.
A license must be acquired for every end user that uses the components,
either directly or indirectly (for example, such as by accessing the components
via an intermediate machine, piece of software, or another person on the end
users behalf).
Licensee may also allow users who have acquired a separate license for IBM Personal
Communications Version 5.9 or higher ("PCOMM") to use components as part of
products that interoperate with PCOMM. When products are used in conjunction
with PCOMM, such users do not count toward the number of use authorizations
that licensee is required to purchase for the program as set forth above.
IBM does
not provide any warranty or support for licensee's use of components when
used as part of products that do not use the API documented by IBM. The documented
API are the programmable Host On-Demand API, Session Manager API, Session
Manager API, HACL API, and Host On-Demand J2EE Connector API, licensee, and
not IBM,
are responsible for the overal results achieved by the products.
