Unlike our competitors, these applications deliver a highly adaptable, integrated line-of-business view of performance that can streamline and automate the configuration and management of reports to ensure that analytic content is continuously relevant, product value is sustained, and total cost of ownership is optimized.

New licensing structure

IBM Cognos Analytic Applications is available via Passport Advantage®. Passport Advantage is a simple, comprehensive loyalty program that provides software-license acquisition and renewable Software Subscription and Support (product updates and technical support) using a common set of processes and tools.

If you purchased Software Subscription and Support for heritage Cognos applications, you can renew your entitlements based upon the announced programs. Although the programs are now offered under a new, streamlined licensing and packaging model, the function of the applications has not changed from that of previously available offerings.

IBM Cognos Workforce Performance

This packaged analytic application delivers interactive insight into workforce issues. With consolidated reporting from multiple systems, it can analyze factors such as workforce strength, talent acquisition, talent development, talent retention, employee performance, and compensation. It transforms data from PeopleSoft, Oracle, and SAP Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS) and other best-of-breed systems into actionable information.

IBM Cognos Financial Performance Analytics

Cognos Financial Performance Analytics is renamed and the pricing is modified. This analytic application pulls general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable information from different data sources, such as Enterprise Resource Planning, into standard reports for controllers and finance analysts, as well as line-of-business managers. The application has separate modules for general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable that can be purchased separately or as a single solution. It not only generates packaged reports into standard formats, but also has an embedded data warehouse that streamlines the configuration and management of financial information, which significantly lowers the overall cost of managing an organization's operational financial information.

IBM Cognos Customer Performance Sales Analytics

IBM Cognos Customer Performance Sales Analytics enables sales executives and mangers to more effectively manage their sales cycles with faster insight into existing and emerging revenue opportunities. Part of IBM Cognos Analytic Applications, this application provides a standard and easier way of reporting and analysis of historical performance across the entire sales cycle. Charge metrics definitions

(1) Install or Instance

"Install" or "Instance" is the unit of measure by which this Program is licensed. An Install or Instance is a single installation of the Program covering the total number of licenses obtained based on the total number of Authorized Users for which Licensee obtains a use authorization. To determine the number of licenses that Licensee requires, the following will apply:

(a) with respect to

IBM Cognos Banking Performance - Credit Risk,
IBM Cognos Financial Performance General Ledger Analytics,
IBM Cognos Financial Performance Accounts Receivable Analytics,
IBM Cognos Financial Performance Accounts Payable Analytics,
IBM Cognos Supply Chain Performance Procurement Analytics, and
IBM Cognos Workforce Performance Talent Analytics

Tier 1 From 1 to 25 Authorized Users, 1 License

Tier 2 From 26 to 100 Authorized Users, 2 Licenses

Tier 3 From 101 to 500 Authorized Users, 3 Licenses

Tier 4 From 501 to 1000 Authorized Users, 4 Licenses

Deployments with more than 1000 users (Tier 4) require the customer to purchase additional licenses in quantities of the 1000 user level. For example, the 1001 to 2000 user level requires 8 licenses, the 2001 to 3000 user level requires 12 licenses, the 3001 to 4000 user level requires 16 licenses, and so forth.

Tier 1 From 1 to 25 Authorized Users, 1 License

Tier 2 From 26 to 100 Authorized Users, 2 Licenses

Tier 3 From 101 to 500 Authorized Users, 4 Licenses

Tier 4 From 501 to 1000 Authorized Users, 5 Licenses

Deployments with more than 1000 users (Tier 4) require the customer to purchase additional licenses in quantities of the 1000 user level. For example, the 1001 to 2000 user level requires 10 licenses, the 2001 to 3000 user level requires 15 licenses, the 3001 to 4000 user level requires 20 licenses, and so forth.

For each Install, or Instance, license that Licensee obtains, as indicated on Licensee"s Proof of Entitlement ("PoE"), Licensee may install and run on (1) production instance of the Program on an unlimited number of servers, providing tha such production instance is for the same Application. At all times, the number of Authorized Users accessing the Program must not exceed Licensee"s entitlement to use the Program, a indicated on the applicable PoE. Each production instance of the Program may have an unlimited number of development and test environments.

Licensing

IBM International Program License Agreement including the License Information document and Proof of Entitlement (PoE) govern your use of the Program. PoEs are required for all authorized use.

Part number products only, offered outside of Passport Advantage, where applicable, are license only and do not include Software Maintenance.

This software license includes Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance).

Warranty

IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible for the results obtained from the use of the program.

IBM provides you with access to IBM databases containing information on known program defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no additional charge. Consult the IBM Software Support Handbook for further information at

IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee acquires the program (warranty period).

Program technical support

Technical support of a program product will be available for a minimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates, releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee.

Money-back guarantee

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.

For programs acquired under the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement, this term applies only to your first acquisition of the program.

Authorization for use on home/portable computer

The program may be stored on the primary machine and another machine, provided that the program is not in active use on both machines at the same time. You may not copy and use this program on another computer without paying additional license fees.

IBM has transformed its delivery of hardware and software support services to help you achieve higher system availability. Electronic Services is a Web-enabled solution that offers an exclusive, no-additional-charge enhancement to the service and support available for IBM servers. These services are designed to provide the opportunity for greater system availability with faster problem resolution and preemptive monitoring. Electronic Services comprises two separate, but complementary, elements: Electronic Services news page and Electronic Services Agent.

The Electronic Services news page is a single Internet entry point that replaces the multiple entry points traditionally used to access IBM Internet services and support. The news page enables you to gain easier access to IBM resources for assistance in resolving technical problems.

The Electronic Service Agent™ is no-additional-charge software that resides on your server. It monitors events and transmits system inventory information to IBM on a periodic, client-defined timetable. The Electronic Service Agent automatically reports hardware problems to IBM. Early knowledge about potential problems enables IBM to deliver proactive service that may result in higher system availability and performance. In addition, information collected through the Service Agent is made available to IBM service support representatives when they help answer your questions or diagnose problems. Installation and use of IBM Electronic Service Agent for problem reporting enables IBM to provide better support and service for your IBM server.
