IBM® Informix® Warehouse
V11.50 extends infrastructure capabilities to Informix customers by providing information
integration, warehousing, and management capabilities to help transform operational
data into trusted information that can be used to optimize business in real-time.
Informix Warehouse
V11.50 is an integrated data warehouse platform that provides IBM Informix Dynamic
Server (IDS) and tools needed to transform operational data; to build, deploy,
operate, and maintain a data warehouse; and to deliver the managed information
assets globally. The integrated capabilities include:
- SQW Warehouse Client with Design Studio for data modeling, schema design,
data transformation design, and data flow design
- SQW Warehouse Server with Administration Console to schedule and manage
data flows
- SQL Warehouse (SQLW) runtime to perform data transformation within the
IDS data server

IDS V11.50xC4 can help you reduce your storage costs while improving your
query performance with the new optional IDS Storage Optimization Feature for
Enterprise Edition. The Storage Optimization Feature can help reduce your
storage costs by compressing row data on disk. The IDS Storage Optimization
Feature is included with Informix Warehouse Enterprise Edition.

When IBM Informix Warehouse
V11.50 is combined with Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) industry leading replication
capabilities, you will be able to capture trusted information in real-time,
helping to extend information assets to enable more timely actionable business
decisions to optimize your business. With IDS V11.50, you will be able to
utilize the enhancements to XML documents search in Basic Text Search and
enhancements to the Excalibur Text Search for text analytics. The IDS Open
Admin Tool (OAT) provides you the capability to remotely monitor and manage
IDS data servers worldwide and to drill down and analyze query performance
and resources consumption from virtually anywhere in the world.
IBM Informix Warehouse
V11.50 is available in two offerings.
- Informix Warehouse
Enterprise Edition includes IDS Enterprise Edition, the IBM IDS Storage
Optimization Feature for Enterprise Edition, and the Informix Warehouse Feature for Enterprise
Edition for integrated warehouse tooling.
- Informix Warehouse
Workgroup Edition includes IDS Workgroup Edition and the Informix Warehouse
Feature.
The Informix Warehouse
Feature is available separately if you already have either the IDS Enterprise
or Workgroup Edition licenses for warehouse processing and want to add the Informix Warehouse
Feature for integrated warehouse tooling.

IBM IDS
V11.50xC4 Enterprise Edition offers you the opportunity to reduce your storage
costs while improving your query performance with the new optional IDS Storage
Optimization Feature for Enterprise Edition. You can select which tables and
fragments to compress to address your business needs. In addition, the Storage
Optimization Feature helps enhance disk space management with functions to
repack rows for storage optimization and to truncate empty extents at the
end of a table to release unused space. The compressed data and optimized
storage could help reduce the number of disk I/Os and improve efficiency of
memory buffer pools usage, resulting in faster query processing and response
time.

IPLA and Subscription and Support considerations
IPLA licenses can be transferred from one machine to another within, but
not limited to an enterprise. You may aggregate the capacity for all the processors
the product is operated on to achieve a more economic price. This will result
in a single Proof of Entitlement (PoE). It is your responsibility to manage
the distribution of Value Units within the limits of the entitlement of the
product license.
Subscription and Support must cover the same capacity as the product license
entitlement. Subscription and Support will be available in the country in
which the agreement is made.

Enterprise Edition V11.50 and Informix Warehouse Feature for Enterprise
Edition V11.50 are designed to address the data server needs of mid-size to
large-size businesses. It can be deployed on Linux®, UNIX®, and Microsoft® Windows® servers of any size, from one
processor to hundreds of processors. They are a strong foundation for building
on-demand enterprise-wide solutions for data warehouse and high-volume online
transaction processing (OLTP) solutions helping to support near-zero transaction
response times; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year continuous
global availability; lower cost of administration; and remote management of
thousands of IDS servers with only one to a few database adminstrators.
Program charges: Informix Warehouse Enterprise Edition V11.50 and Informix Warehouse
Feature for Enterprise Edition V11.50 are available on a Value Unit, Concurrent
Session, or Authorized User charge metric basis. You must acquire entitlements
for each Authorized User or Concurrent Session of this product, with a minimum
of 10 Authorized Users or 10 Concurrent Sessions per server.
Informix Warehouse
Workgroup Edition V11.50 and Informix Warehouse Feature for Workgroup
Edition V11.50 are designed to address the warehouse data server needs of
a departmental, workgroup, or medium-size business solution. It is a leading
data server for business partners who want to integrate solutions for medium
businesses, requiring reduced database administration, and more continuous
reliability and high availability. It is available for either per processor
Value Units or per Authorized User or Concurrent Session pricing models, to
provide flexible and attractive price points for medium-size installations.
Program charges: Informix Warehouse Workgroup Edition V11.50 and Informix Warehouse
Feature for Workgroup Edition V11.50 are available on a Value Unit, Concurrent
Session, or Authorized User charge metric basis. You must acquire entitlements
for each Authorized User or Concurrent Session of this product, with a minimum
of 10 Authorized Users or 10 Concurrent Sessions per server. They can be deployed
on systems with up to 480 Value Units and 8 GB of total allocated shared memory
(SHMTOTAL) across all IDS instances per server.
IBM IDS
Storage Optimization Feature for Enterprise Edition is design to help
you reduce storage costs and help manage your data growth while improving
performance. It provides you with maximum flexibility to optimize your online
data growth and benefit from faster query processing response time.
Program charges: IBM IDS Storage Optimization Feature for Enterprise Edition
is available on a Value Unit, Concurrent Session, or Authorized User charge
metric basis. This feature is available only as an option to the IDS Enterprise
Edition, and this feature is included in the Informix Warehouse Enterprise Edition.
To use the feature on IDS, you must acquire the same number of entitlements
using the same charge metric as you acquired for that underlying IDS data
server.

Hardware and software requirements
Informix Warehouse
is a distributed product and its components are arranged into three logical
groups. Typically, you install these groups on three different computers,
but you can install them on a single computer. These groups are:
- IDS data server.
- SQW Warehouse Server: This group includes WebSphere® Application Server and applications
that run on WebSphere:
the Warehouse Administration Console, and run-time services for the SQW Warehouse
Server Client, and the SQL Warehousing Tool.
- SQW Client: This group includes the Design Studio and the SQW Warehouse
Server Client front-end requirements for IDS data server.
IDS V11.50xC4 - IDS Data Server
Hardware requirements
IDS V11.50xC4 runs on most systems that run UNIX, Linux, or Windows operating systems. For UNIX and Linux, you need

- If you download images from the IBM Web site, 8 GB of free disk space is
required to store and unpackage the product components.
- Approximately 1.2 GB of disk space is recommended for the installation
images of the Application Server components alone.
- On AIX,
you must have enough disk space for all the installable images for the entire Informix Warehouse
tooling product, even if you are not installing all the components. This is
approximately 7.5 GB.
Temporary space for running the installation program: Approximately 1.5
GB of disk space is recommended.
Permanent space for the installed components: Approximately 1.4 GB of disk
space is recommended for WebSphere and the Warehouse Administration Console.
If you are installing WebSphere into a 64-bit instance, you will need
an additional 500 MB.
Memory
Memory for installing the product: Approximately 512 MB of memory is recommended
to install the SQW Warehouse Server.
Memory for running the product:
- A minimum of 1 GB of memory is recommended to run the SQW Warehouse Server
alone. If you run the Informix Warehouse tooling components on the same
computer, another 1 GB of memory is recommended.

Charge metrics definitions
Processor Value Unit (PVU)
PVU is the unit of measure by which this program is licensed. PVU entitlements
are based on processor families (vendors and brands). A Proof of Entitlement
(PoE) must be obtained for the appropriate number of PVUs based on the level
or tier of all processor cores activated and available for use by the program
on the server. Some programs allow licensing to less than the full capacity
of the server's activated processor cores, sometimes referred to as sub-capacity
licensing. For programs which offer sub-capacity licensing, if a server is
partitioned utilizing eligible partitioning technologies, then a PoE must
be obtained for the appropriate number of PVUs based on all activated processor
cores available for use in each partition where the program runs or is managed
by the program. Refer to the International Passport Advantage Agreement
Attachment for Sub-Capacity Terms or the program's License Information to
determine applicable sub-capacity terms. The PVU entitlements are specific
to the program and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with
PVU entitlements of another program.

Concurrent User
Concurrent User is the unit of measure by which this program is licensed.
A Concurrent User is a shared user access to the program within or outside
of your enterprise. The program may be installed only on one computer or one
server. The total number of Concurrent Users simultaneously accessing the
program at any moment in time may not exceed the highest number of Concurrent
Users authorized by the PoE. You must have an entitlement for each Concurrent
User simultaneously accessing the program or any program component in any
manner directly or indirectly (for example, via a multiplexing program, device,
or application server) through any means.
Authorized User
You must acquire a separate Authorized User license entitlement for each
Authorized User of the program installed on each individual server.
An Authorized User is one and only one individual with a specific identity
within or outside your enterprise. A PoE is required for each Authorized User
accessing the program or any program component on a single server either directly
or indirectly through any means. An example of indirect access would be through
a multiplexing program, client device, or application server. For a single
Authorized User to access the program on more than one server, additional
PoEs must be acquired and each PoE must be based on the charge metric associated
with the program being accessed.
The program can be accessed by multiple Authorized Users provided that
an Authorized User license entitlement has been obtained for each individual.
An Authorized User's ID is unique to the uniquely identified individual and
cannot be shared with or used by others or transferred. A single Authorized
User ID, however, is entitled to establish one or more connections to the
program (but only on a single server for each entitlement), each for use solely
by the identified Authorized User, and only the single Authorized User entitlement
is required. If an Authorized User makes connections to other IDS data servers
(or to this program residing on a separate server), additional PoEs must be
acquired for those connections using the charge metric for those other IDS
data servers or for the other program.
Each separate individual that uses a connection, directly or indirectly,
made to this program through the intranet (connections from within your enterprise)
or through the Internet (connection from outside your enterprise) must be
counted as a separate Authorized User and a separate entitlement must be acquired
for such Authorized User.
The following minimum Authorized User requirement applies to licenses to
the Informix Warehouse
Enterprise Edition V11.50 and Informix Warehouse Feature for Enterprise
Edition V11.50: The program must be licensed for, and PoE acquired for, the
greater of (a) at least ten Authorized Users per server on which the program
is installed or (b) the total number of Authorized Users accessing the program.
Concurrent Session
A Concurrent Session is a) a logical connection made between the program
(residing on a single Server) and a client device and b) except as indicated
below, each logical connection made between an instance of the Administration
Console component of a program and an IDS instance of a program or any separately
acquired IDS V11.50 program. Each such connection is counted as a Concurrent
Session whether or not it is actually in use and regardless of the duration
of the connection or periods of activity. If an individual end user establishes
multiple connections, each one is counted as a separate Concurrent Session,
even if they share a common physical pathway. From the day you began using
the program, the highest number of connections ever established at any time
for each copy (for example, instance) of the program on each server will be
counted for purposes of determining the total Concurrent Session entitlements
required. You must acquire entitlements for the greatest number of logical
connections ever established at any time for all program instances on each
server, including (except as indicated below) each logical connection made
between an instance of the Administration Console component of a program and
an IDS instance of a program or any separately acquired IDS V11.50 program.
Refer to the example below.
The Informix Warehouse
Feature includes the Informix Warehouse Administration Console components.
The following applies to the Informix Warehouse Feature for Workgroup and Enterprise
Editions.
When a SQL Warehouse run request is issued from an instance of the Administration
Console, it may create a number of parallel logical connections to an instance
of IDS. While each original connection between an Administration Console instance
and an IDS instance is counted as a Concurrent Session for which a PoE entitlement
must be acquired, additional parallel connections created in conjunction with
such SQL Warehouse
Each logical connection made between a client device and a copy of the
program residing on a server is counted as a Concurrent Session for which
an entitlement is required. For example, if copies of the program reside on
two different servers and a single client device is connected to the program
on both servers, then two Concurrent Sessions have been established and a
PoE must be acquired for each of them. As a further example, if four copies
of the program reside on two different servers and a single client device
is connected to each of the four instances of the program, then four Concurrent
Sessions have been established and a PoE must be acquired for each of them.
As a further example, if four copies of the IDS component of a Program reside
on 2 different servers and a single client device is connected to each of
the 4 instances of the IDS component, and 2 Administration Console instances
(1 on each server) are connected to each of 4 instances of the IDS component,
then 12 Concurrent Sessions (4 total from the client device and 8 total from
the Administration Console) have been established and a PoE must be acquired
for each of them.
Each logical connection from a client device made, directly or indirectly,
to this program (residing on a single server), through the intranet (connections
from within your enterprise) or through the Internet (connections from outside
your enterprise) is counted as a separate Concurrent Session and a separate
PoE must be acquired for such Concurrent Session.
A PoE is required for each Concurrent Session established to access the
program or any program component either directly or indirectly through any
means. An example of indirect access would be through a multiplexing program,
client device, or application server. The number of connections is not reduced
by any program, client device, or machine, such as a front-end server, application
server, or multiplexer, which may be used to connect, manage, or concentrate
the logical connections.
For example, if you install one or more copies (for example, instances)
of the program on each of 3 servers and from the day you begin using the program,
the greatest number of Concurrent Sessions ever established on the total program
instances (including applicable Administration Console instance to IDS instance
connections as specified above) on Server 1 was 12, on Server 2 was 70, and
on Server 3 was 89, then you must acquire, and pay for, PoE entitlements for
171 Concurrent Sessions, even if the number of your logical connections decreases
over time (for example, logical connections are reduced to the following:
Server 1: 12; Server 2: 56; Server 3: 80). Of course, you may subsequently
again increase your total number of logical connections to 171 without needing
to acquire additional Concurrent Session entitlements; provided that you do
not increase the total number of logical connections, including logical connections
made between an instance of the Administration Console component of a program
and an IDS instance of a program or any separately acquired IDS V11.50 program
on any one of the servers beyond the highest number of applicable logical
connections ever previously established on that server. In this example, you
could again increase the logical connections on Server 2 up to 70, and could
increase the logical connections on Server 3 up to 89, without needing to
acquire additional Concurrent Session entitlements. To be clear, if you did
increase the total number of logical connections on Server 2 up to 70, you
could change the combination of such logical connections that were originally
acquired without needing to acquire additional entitlements (for example,
if you originally had entitlements for 50 connections between client devices
and the program and 20 Administration Console instance connections to IDS
instances, then you could instead implement 60 connections between client
devices and the program and 10 Administration Console instance connections
to IDS instances). However, if you increased the number of logical connections
on Server 1 to 25, even though the number of logical connections on Servers
2 and 3 remained at 56 and 80, respectively, you would need to acquire an
additional 13 Concurrent Session entitlements for Server 1 (bringing your
total entitlements to 184). Concurrent Sessions are not equivalent to concurrent
users.
Each batch process being executed at the same time is also considered to
be a Concurrent Session. You must acquire a separate Concurrent Session license
entitlement for each Concurrent Session as described above.
Each logical connection from a client device made, directly or indirectly,

Enterprise Edition V11.50 and Informix Warehouse Feature for Enterprise
Edition V11.5:
- The program must be licensed for, and PoE acquired for, the greater of
(a) at least ten Concurrent Sessions per server on which the program is installed
or (b) the total number of Concurrent Sessions accessing the program.
The following minimum Concurrent Sessions requirement applies to licenses
to the Informix Warehouse
Workgroup Edition V11.50 and Informix Warehouse Feature for Workgroup Edition
V11.50:
- The program must be licensed for, and PoE acquired for, the greater of
(a) at least 10 Concurrent Sessions per server on which you install the program;

IBM International
Program License Agreement including the License Information document and PoE
govern your use of the program. PoEs are required for all authorized use.

Warranty
IBM warrants
that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will
conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified
portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation
of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible
for the results obtained from the use of the program.
IBM provides
you with access to IBM databases containing information on known program
defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no additional charge.

IBM will
maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee
acquires the program (warranty period).
Program technical support
Technical support of a program product will be available for a minimum
of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software
Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance
(via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented
questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product.
Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates, releases, and
versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of
discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional
technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance
date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may
be available for a fee.
Money-back guarantee
If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the
original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it,
if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE
to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you
may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to
obtain the refund.
For programs acquired under the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement,
this term applies only to your first acquisition of the program.
For programs acquired under any of IBM's On/Off CoD software offerings,
this term does not apply since these offerings apply to programs already acquired
and in use by you.
Authorization for use on home/portable computer
The program may be stored on the primary machine and another machine, provided
that the program is not in active use on both machines at the same time. You
may not copy and use this program on another computer without paying additional
license fees.

is included with licenses purchased through Passport Advantage and Passport
Advantage Express. Product upgrades and technical support are provided
by the Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance)
offering as described in the Agreements. Product upgrades provide the latest
versions and releases to entitled software and Technical Support provides
voice and electronic access to IBM support organizations, worldwide.
IBM includes
one year of Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software
Maintenance) with each program license acquired. The initial period of Software
Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) can be
extended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available.
While your Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software
Maintenance) is in effect, IBM provides you assistance for your routine, short duration
installation and usage (how-to) questions, and code-related questions. IBM provides
assistance via telephone and, if available, electronic access, to your information
systems (IS) technical support personnel during the normal business hours
(published prime shift hours) of your IBM support center. (This assistance is
not available to your end users.) IBM provides Severity 1 assistance 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week. For additional details, consult your IBM Software Support

Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance)
does not include assistance for the design and development of applications,
your use of programs in other than their specified operating environment,

your questions or diagnose problems. Installation and use of IBM Electronic
Service Agent for problem reporting enables IBM to provide better support and service
for your IBM server.
