Description
Bottom rule

Optim Database Relationship Analyzer for Linux, UNIX, and Windows V1.1 is designed to:

  • Discover the many relationships between tables in an enterprise environment, including the relationships that are hard to find and manage, such as monthly or year-end, dynamic, or transient applications
  • Enable the grouping of related tables based on their usage in the environment
  • Identify relationship groupings to keep data relationally intact for archiving, recovering, testing, and replicating
  • Flag changes between groups to help the DBA validate that the application changes were correct

Optim Database Relationship Analyzer for Linux, UNIX, and Windows V1.1 provides relationship data as a basis for consistent administrative management activities by:

  • Locating all of the parts of a business application
  • Discovering the many relationships and relationship types between tables
  • Providing a starting point for determining what relationships exist in a database, where those relationships were not known or understood before
  • Discovering and tracking the changes of application groups as they evolve over time
  • Providing the basis for understanding the impact of a table change as it relates to the other groups it participates in

Optim Database Relationship Analyzer for Linux, UNIX, and Windows V1.1 provides the following capabilities:

  • Heterogeneous database support for DB2 and Oracle.
  • A client user interface that allows the user to manage and generate grouping information across multiple platforms from one client. The user interface also allows the user to manually enter table relationship information as needed.
  • Discovery of table relationships to one another. The types of relationships include those found in the database catalog, those found through unit of work analysis performed on database SQL trace information and those found in user-provided relationship information.
  • A group validation feature that provides the ability to compare two groups of relationship information. This can be used to help ensure application changes are being made as expected.
  • Integration functions: Optim Database Relationship Analyzer provides a set of Javatm APIs that allow other database applications to access the table relationships discovered by Optim Database Relationship Analyzer. Optim Database Relationship Analyzer also provides the capability to generate an Optim Export file, allowing the discovered relationship information to be used with other Optim solutions.

Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act

Optim Database Relationship Analyzer for Linux, UNIX, and Windows is capable as of October 31, 2008, when used in accordance with IBM's associated documentation, of satisfying the applicable requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, provided that any assistive technology used with the product properly interoperates with it. Processor Value Unit (PVU)

PVU is the unit of measure by which this program is licensed. PVU entitlements are based on processor families (vendors and brands). A Proof of Entitlement (PoE) must be obtained for the appropriate number of PVUs based on the level or tier of all processor cores activated and available for use by the program on the server. Some programs allow licensing to less than the full capacity of the server's activated processor cores, sometimes referred to as sub-capacity licensing. For programs which offer sub-capacity licensing, if a server is partitioned utilizing eligible partitioning technologies, then a PoE must be obtained for the appropriate number of PVUs based on all activated processor cores available for use in each partition where the program runs or is managed by the program. Refer to the International Passport Advantage Agreement Attachment for Sub-Capacity Terms or the program's License Information to determine applicable sub-capacity terms. The PVU entitlements are specific to the program and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with PVU entitlements of another program.

For general overview of PVUs for processor families (vendors and brands), go to

http://www.ibm.com/software/lotus/passportadvantage/pvu_licensing _for_customers.html

To calculate the exact PVU entitlements required for the program, go to

IBM Electronic Services
Bottom rule

IBM has transformed its delivery of hardware and software support services to help you achieve higher system availability. Electronic Services is a Web-enabled solution that offers an exclusive, no-additional-charge enhancement to the service and support available for IBM servers. These services are designed to provide the opportunity for greater system availability with faster problem resolution and preemptive monitoring. Electronic Services comprises two separate, but complementary, elements: Electronic Services news page and Electronic Services Agent.

The Electronic Services news page is a single Internet entry point that replaces the multiple entry points traditionally used to access IBM Internet services and support. The news page enables you to gain easier access to IBM resources for assistance in resolving technical problems.

The Electronic Service Agenttm is no-additional-charge software that resides on your server. It monitors events and transmits system inventory information to IBM on a periodic, client-defined timetable. The Electronic Service Agent automatically reports hardware problems to IBM. Early knowledge about potential problems enables IBM to deliver proactive service that may result in higher system availability and performance. In addition, information collected through the Service Agent is made available to IBM service support representatives when they help answer your questions or diagnose problems. Installation and use of IBM Electronic Service Agent for problem reporting enables IBM to provide better support and service for your IBM server.
