Description

This Web-to-host offering addresses the full business cycle with industry-leading host access solutions and unmatched flexibility for any environment. Integrated into the WebSphere solution platform (a comprehensive set of integrated e-business solutions), HIS gives you a single point of contact, service, and support to help meet your network needs.

WebSphere Host Access Transformation Services V7.0

The HATS Toolkit is a set of plug-ins for the Eclipse-based IBM Rational® Software Delivery Platform (Rational SDP). The HATS Toolkit enables you to develop new applications, including portlets, a step at a time, previewing and saving each change you make. Over time, or as quickly as you like, you can streamline your HATS application, and make it easier to use than the host applications whose data it presents, and possibly moving functions from the host applications into your HATS applications.

The development process for building HATS Web and rich client applications is similar. HATS allows you to select a template suited to your business. You can hide unnecessary information, and create tables to display only required input fields. You can provide a drop-down list of valid values for an input field and you can change the size and location of some of the text and provided navigation buttons.

After you have developed a HATS application, you deploy it to a production runtime environment. The HATS runtime code runs as part of a HATS application deployed in a production runtime environment: WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal, or rich client platform. Users interact with the HATS application through the HATS GUI and data is sent back and forth between the user and the host application.

Whether creating a Web application or a rich client application, you might decide that this is enough customization, but with HATS you can add much more. For example, you can use HATS macro support to provide programmed navigation through multiple host screens. You can take your users directly to the first screen that you want them to use, bypassing other screens. You can use macros or the screen combination function to combine data from several host screens into one HATS GUI page. You can use business logic and global variables to integrate your host applications with other back-end systems in your enterprise, as well as with your business partners' systems. From HATS macros, you can generate HATS Integration Objects, which are Java™ beans that encapsulate interactions with a host application, and use them to create Web pages and Web Services support files. And you can develop Enterprise JavaBeans components that use HATS Integration Objects to exchange data with host applications.

For additional product information for Host Access Transformation Services, refer to Software Announcement 207-032 , dated February 27, 2007.

WebFacing Deployment Tool with HATS Technology V7.0

WebFacing Deployment Tool — with HATS technology (WDHT) is the runtime enabler for the WebFacing Tool and the runtime enabler for the HATS Toolkit.

You can continue to use these tools independently to generate applications that reface 5250 applications. Both tools are fully functional as delivered, and projects from each tool can be deployed to two end user connections for testing purposes. Once ready for production, WDHT acts as the key to enable both WebFacing and HATS projects.

WDHT is also the runtime that allows these technologies to work together in an integrated fashion. Both WebFacing Tool and HATS Toolkit users can work seamlessly with their existing projects, create new independent project, or create combined projects.

For additional product information for WDHT, refer to Software Announcement 207-034 , dated February 27, 2007.

WebSphere Developer for System z V7.0

WebSphere Developer for System z V7.0 includes capabilities that can help make traditional mainframe development, Web development, and integrated service-oriented architecture (SOA) based composite development fast and efficient. COBOL, PL/I, C, C++, High-Level  Assembler, and Java developer communities can also be more productive when they take advantage of these functions.

WebSphere Developer for System z V7.0 is the follow-on replacement for WebSphere Studio Enterprise Developer V5 and WebSphere Developer for zSeries® V6.

WebSphere Developer for System z V7.0 supports industry standards that can simplify the development of rich client interfaces, Web user interfaces, traditional terminal interfaces, and back-end, business logic deployable to CICS®, IMS™, DB2®, Batch, UNIX® System Services, and WebSphere transactional environments. It also includes high-productivity tools for business-oriented developers, new to Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and Java, that integrate IBM System z processing via Web services with powerful Web User and Session management.

WebSphere Developer for System z is optimized for IBM WebSphere software and System z deployment environments, and supports multivendor runtime environments. It is powered by the Eclipse open-source platform so developers can adapt and extend their development environment to match their needs and help increase their productivity.

When WebSphere Developer for System z is used with the IBM Software Development Platform, developers can extend its processing to meet a broad range of requirements, including change management and test functions, usable directly from the WebSphere Developer for System z desktop.

For additional product information for WebSphere Developer for System z, refer to Software Announcement 206-320 , dated December 5, 2006.

Program-unique Terms for IBM Host Integration Solution for Multiplatforms/System z

The WebSphere Host Integration Solution for Multiplatforms or the WebSphere Host Integration Solution for System z, each defined as the "Program," is available based on two charging methods: Authorized User and Concurrent Users. Consult your PoE to determine which charging method applies to your license.

The Authorized version of the program consists of the following components:

  • IBM Personal Communications ("Personal Communications")
  • IBM WebSphere Host On-Demand ("HOD")
  • IBM Communications Servers ("Communications Servers")
  • IBM WebSphere Host Access Transformation Services ("HATS")
  • IBM WebSphere Developer for System z ("WebSphere Developer")
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment ("WAS")

The Concurrent version of the program consists of the following components:

  • IBM WebSphere Host On-Demand ("HOD")
  • IBM Communications Servers ("Communications Servers")
  • IBM WebSphere Host Access Transformation Services ("HATS")
  • IBM WebSphere Developer for System z ("WebSphere Developer")
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment ("WAS ND")

Entitlement to program upgrades does not entitle you to upgrades to the individual components unless such components are upgraded as part of a program upgrade. For example, if the HATS program product is upgraded, you will not be entitled to such upgrade unless a program upgrade includes the upgraded version of HATS.

Except as modified herein, the use of the components will be governed by the license terms that accompany the components; provided, however, that if you choose to use HOD component on 3480 or 3590 tapes, the additional license terms below for the HOD component will apply to your use of the HOD component.

Program-unique terms

The program is available based on two charging methods: Authorized Users and Concurrent Users. The number of program licenses purchased must equal the number of Authorized Users and/or Concurrent Users accessing the program from the Internet and/or intranet. The Authorized User charging method should be used in all cases where a user can be identified as an Authorized User, as defined below. This includes access from the Internet and intranet. The Concurrent User charging method should only be used in cases where access is from the Internet and a user cannot be identified as an Authorized User.

Authorized User

An Authorized User is one and only one individual, machine, program, or device with a specific identity (ID) within or outside Your enterprise.

A PoE is required for each Authorized User accessing the program, or any program component, either directly or indirectly through any means on behalf of the Authorized User. An example of "indirect" access would be through a multiplexing program, device, or application server. Connections (from either users or other applications) made to the program through other products that act as connection concentrators must be counted as Authorized Users and are subject to use-base charges based on the number of Authorized Users of those concentrators. An Authorized User license to the program entitles a distinct Authorized User to access and use the components of the program subject to the limitations under Component Restrictions below.

Concurrent User

The program defines a Concurrent User as any user who cannot be distinctly identified but accesses and uses (i) the program or (ii) a connection to an existing application from the program. Examples of connections would be TN3270, TN5250, VT, or JDBC connections. A Concurrent User Authorization must be acquired for each Concurrent User. The total number of Concurrent User Authorization must be equal to the maximum number of Concurrent Users that concurrently access and use the program at any time. A Concurrent User license to the Program entitles such user to access and use the components of the Program as long as the total number of users concurrently accessing and using the components at any one time does not exceed the total number of Concurrent User authorizations you have acquired. Your use of the program components is subject to the limitations under Component Restrictions below.

Component Restrictions

IBM WebSphere Host Access Transformation Services

The license to the program entitles you to use the HATS Toolkit for an unlimited number of developers on an unlimited number of workstations for development purposes. The HATS applications (Runtime deployments), which are generated by the HATS Toolkit, must be in accordance with one of the charging methods above when deployed to production.

IBM Communications Server

The license to the program entitles you to install and use any combination of IBM Communications Servers provided with the program. This license entitles you to use the IBM Communications Servers in conjunction with the components of the Program in support of the Concurrent User or Authorized User licenses purchased.

IBM Personal Communications

The license to the program entitles you to install and use IBM Personal Communications only with the purchase of the Authorized User charging method. The license to the program does not entitle you to install and use IBM Personal Communications if you purchase the Concurrent User charging method.

IBM WebSphere Application Server

The program is accompanied by WebSphere Application Server (WAS). The license to the program entitles you to install and use one copy of WAS on a machine with a single processor provided that you acquire 50 Authorized or Concurrent User authorizations. You may use one additional copy of WAS on one additional processor for each additional 100 Authorized or Concurrent User authorizations that you acquire.

HIS Authorized or Concurrent Total Copies of WAS

Etc. Etc.

For each copy of WAS to which you are entitled, you are authorized to install and use each component of WAS on a machine with a single processor. Alternatively, you may install and use each copy of WAS on a machine with multiple processors if you either:

i. Allocate a copy of WAS to which you are entitled per this
Agreement to each additional processor on such machine; or,
ii. Acquire a Single Processor PoE of WAS for each
additional processor on such machine; or,
iii.For partitionable iSeries and AS/400(R) machines running OS/400,
allocate a copy of WAS to which you are entitled per this
Agreement to each additional processor on such machine or
acquire a Single Processor PoE of WAS for each processor actually
used by the entitled copy of WAS on such machine, as measured or
limited using IBM provided tools. To determine the number of
processors in a machine actually used by the entitled copy of WAS,
you may aggregate portions of physical processors used in the same
machine, but you must acquire an additional Single Processor PoE
of WAS for any remaining fraction of a processor in such
machine used by the entitled copy of WAS after this aggregation.

This license entitles you to use the WAS components only to run Host Access Transformation Services and/or Host On-Demand components of the program, to run objects created by these components, and to enable connections with these components to other applications and sources of data. This license does not, for instance, entitle you to use the WAS components to run applications which do not require the Host Access Transformation Services and/or Host On-Demand components of the program to operate. Except as modified by this Agreement, your use of the WAS components will be governed by the license terms that accompany the WAS components. If you wish to use the WAS components without these restrictions, you must purchase separate authorizations to use the WAS components.

IBM WebSphere Developer for System z

The license to the program entitles you to install and use one license of WebSphere Developer component when you acquire 50 Authorized or Concurrent User authorizations. Thereafter, you are entitled to install and use one additional WebSphere Developer for each additional one 100 Authorized or Concurrent User authorizations you acquire, up to a total of five licenses of WebSphere Developer. Subject to these restrictions, you may use the WebSphere Developer component for any purpose. If you wish to use the WebSphere Developer component without these restrictions, you must purchase additional WebSphere Developer licenses.

Program-unique Terms for IBM Host Integration Solution for System i

The WebSphere Host Integration Solution for System i, defined as the "program," may only be used to connect to iSeries 5250 applications. The program is available based on two charging methods: Authorized User and Concurrent User. Consult your PoE to determine which charging method applies to your license.

The Authorized version of the program consists of the following components:

  • IBM Personal Communications ("Personal Communications")
  • IBM WebSphere Host On-Demand ("HOD")
  • IBM Communications Servers ("Communications Servers")
  • IBM WebFacing Deployment Tool for WebSphere Development Studio with HATS Technology (WDHT)
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server — Express which includes, without limitation, IBM WebSphere Development Studio Client for iSeries ("WDSc")

The Concurrent version of the program consists of the following components:

  • IBM WebSphere Host On-Demand ("HOD")
  • IBM Communications Servers ("Communications Servers")
  • WebFacing Deployment Tool for WebSphere Development Studio with HATS Technology (WDHT)
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server — Express which includes, without limitation, IBM WebSphere Development Studio Client for iSeries ("WDSc")

Entitlement to program upgrades does not entitle you to upgrades to the individual components unless such components are upgraded as part of a program upgrade. For example, if the WDHT program product is upgraded, you will not be entitled to such upgrade unless a Program upgrade includes the upgraded version of WDHT.

Except as modified herein, the use of the components will be governed by the license terms that accompany the components.

Program-unique terms

The program is available based on two charging methods: Authorized User and Concurrent User.

An Authorized User license to the Program entitles a distinct Authorized User to access and use the components of the program subject to the limitations under below.

Concurrent User

The program defines a Concurrent User as any user who cannot be distinctly identified but accesses and uses (i) the program or (ii) a connection to an existing application from the program. Examples of connections would be TN5250 connections only.

IBM WebSphere Host Access Transformation Services as part of WDHT

The license to the program entitles you to use the HATS Toolkit for an unlimited number of developers on an unlimited number of workstations for development purposes. The HATS applications (Runtime deployments), which are generated by the HATS Toolkit, must be in accordance with one of the charging methods above when deployed to production.

WebFacing Tool Runtime as part of WDHT

The WebFacing Tool Runtime deployments must be in accordance with one of the charging methods above when deployed to production.

Except as modified by this Agreement, your use of the WebSphere Application Server — Express components will be governed by the license terms that accompany the WebSphere Application Server — Express components. The license to the program entitles you to install and use one WebSphere Application Server — Express instance on a single machine with a single processor provided that you acquire 50 Authorized or Concurrent User authorizations. You may use one additional WebSphere Application Server — Express on one additional processor, for each additional 100 Authorized or Concurrent User authorizations that you acquire.

Licenses Application Server -- Express

1-49 0
50-149 1
150-249 2
250-349 3
Etc. Etc.

For each WebSphere Application Server — Express to which you are entitled, you are authorized to install and use each component of WebSphere Application Server — Express on a single machine with a single processor. Alternatively, you may install and use each WebSphere Application Server — Express on a machine with multiple processors if you either:

i. Allocate an WebSphere Application Server — Express to which you
are entitled per this Agreement to each additional processor on such
    machine; or,
ii. Acquire a Single Processor PoE of WebSphere Application Server
-- Express for each additional processor on such machine; or,
iii.For partitionable iSeries and AS/400 machines running OS/400,
allocate a WebSphere Application Server — Express to which
you are entitled per this Agreement to each additional processor
on such machine or acquire a Single Processor PoE of WebSphere
Application Server -- Express for each processor actually
used by the entitled WebSphere Application Server -- Express
on such machine, as measured or limited using IBM provided tools.
To determine the number of processors in a machine actually used
by the entitled WebSphere Application Server -- Express, you may
aggregate portions of physical processors used in the same
machine, but you must acquire an additional Single Processor PoE
of WebSphere Application Server -- Express for any remaining
fraction of a processor in such machine used by the entitled
WebSphere Application Server -- Express after this aggregation.

In any event, the license to the program limits your use of WebSphere Application Server — Express to machines with up to two processors. However, there is no limit on the number of machine processors if you use WebSphere Application Server — Express on iSeries and AS/400 machines running OS/400 or i5/OS.

You are entitled to use the WebServer Plugins to improve security by having an HTTP server run on a separate machine from WebSphere Application Server — Express. You are authorized to only have a 1:1 Web server:application server link with no load balancing support.

In addition, the license to the program entitles you to use the WebSphere Application Server — Express components only to run Host Access Transformation Services, and/or WebFacing Tool Runtime and/or Host On-Demand components of the program, to run objects created by these components, and to enable connections with these components to other applications and sources of data. The license to the program does not, for instance, entitle you to use the WebSphere Application Server — Express components to run applications that do not require the Host Access Transformation Services, and/or WebFacing Tool Runtime components and/or Host On-Demand components of the Program to operate. If you wish to use the WebSphere Application Server — Express components without these restrictions, you must purchase separate authorizations to use the WebSphere Application Server — Express components.

IBM Rational® Software Development Platform Tools

The WebSphere Application Server — Express component includes, without limitation, IBM Rational Application Developer and IBM WebSphere Development Studio Client for iSeries (collectively, the "IBM Rational Software Development Platform Tools"). The license to the program entitles you to use one instance of either IBM Rational Software Development Platform Tool when you acquire 50 Authorized or Concurrent User authorizations. Thereafter, you are entitled to use one additional instance of either IBM Rational Software Development Platform Tool for each additional 100 Authorized or Concurrent User authorizations you acquire, up to a total of five instances of IBM Rational Software Development Platform Tools. Subject to these restrictions, you may use the IBM Rational Software Development Platform Tools for any purpose. If you wish to use the IBM Rational Software Development Platform Tools without these restrictions, you must purchase additional WebSphere Application Server — Express licenses.
