New Pricing for IBM DB2 CommonStore for SAP Entry Offering, V8.1

 ENUS203-172.PDF (26KB)

At a Glance

The DB2 CommonStore for SAP Entry Offering is priced to fit the needs of the Small and Medium Business (SMB/GMB) marketplace.

With this offer, the server price has been reduced, while the user price has been raised. This pricing structure is more attractive to customers who need SAP archiving capabilities for an organization of 150 or fewer users.

Overview

DB2® CommonStore for SAP helps you manage your business more efficiently by regular archiving of your data and documents from SAP R/3. SAP recommends that you archive regularly to maintain optimum online performance and to minimize the time required for database backup and recovery. Continued access to archived data and documents is available directly from the SAP GUI.

DB2 CommonStore for SAP seamlessly integrates DB2 Content Manager, DB2 Content Manager OnDemand, and Tivoli® Storage Manager with SAP R/3 using the SAP ArchiveLink interface. Certified by SAP AG as a complementary software product, it supports all types of data and documents defined in the SAP ArchiveLink specification.

A standard DB2 CommonStore for SAP system requires licenses for one or more servers and for all users who archive and retrieve items through CommonStore. It also requires a separate back-end repository license, available with DB2 Content Manager, DB2 Content Manager OnDemand, or Tivoli Storage Manager.

DB2 CommonStore for SAP Entry Offering provides a reduced server price while raising the user price. You may also install several CommonStore for SAP program servers on the same physical server with no requirement to acquire additional server licenses. This pricing structure is especially attractive to organizations with 150 or fewer users who need SAP archiving capabilities.

When you combine this offering with the IBM Content Manager Entry Offering, you become entitled to install necessary back-end repository licenses, from the program package, the Content Manager program server, the Content Manager OnDemand program server for Multiplatforms, and Tivoli Storage Manager.

This entry offering will be even more attractive for SAP customers who have an e-mail management system environment such as Lotus® Domino™ or Exchange. You can combine the CommonStore for SAP Entry Offering with the following programs:

  • DB2 CommonStore for Lotus Domino Entry Offering (formally known as Content Manager CommonStore for Lotus Domino Entry Offering)
  • DB2 CommonStore for Exchange Server Entry Offering (formally known as Content Manager CommonStore for Exchange Server Entry Offering)

The combined offerings deliver a total SAP and e-mail archive solution at an attractive price.
